Hello all! I am an owner of Daewoo Racer for the last 11 years. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:
![]() [check the link for http://my ride at PakWheels ] I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets! Any member having used a Daewoo must share their experience....(y)

Can you count me in? ![]() I'm using a "Chevrolet Modified Daewoo Vehicle". lolzz. ![]() MASHALLAH you've got a pretty neat and nice ride. I've some questions about Racer. 1. Was it imported? 2. Did it have genuine 1.5l or 1.9l engine? 3. Is it body a strong or normal? I'm getting late. I'd INSHALLAH share my experiences for sure. ![]() Kind Regards,

@Wik
Offcourse, you are in! My car is officer scheme one! I am the first owner of this car. It came with 1.5L SOHC G15SF, TBI engine having Kgm12.0(120N.m.)/3000 torque and 88 PS/5400 RPM. I used the car on stock engine for first 10 years, and then when an engine overhaul was due, I got a DOHC head, manifolds and ECM/Wiring, changed the internals and installed these on the same block. Purely a bolt-on job. Now it has got 14.8(145 N.m.)/3000 torque and 100PS/5000 RPM. So far there is no problem getting it's parts. Initially, there were one workshop in ISB, and now more than 25 shops are specifically dealing in Daewoo parts. Interestingly, those dealers who are importing parts of the Chevrolet are also dealing in Daewoo parts too, that is another break through! Recently I touched 190Km/H at ISB-Burhan motorway, when I wanted to test if there is a speed limiter or not! Imagine, a 13year old car doing this, is somewhat amazing! (being so neglected one) About 90% of engine parts are 100% same as that of Optra, so now there is no problems in accessing parts!..

@spectra
Thanx brother for replying. I'd these two misconceptions: 1. Engine was 1.9l 2. Car was locally assembled. Anyhow thanx for clearifying ![]() @testdriver Nice to know about Racer. About Max Speed. I touched 140km/h so far in Lahore. Yeah in City. LOLZ... I was trying to go above 140km/h on M2 but somebody in my car asked me not to do that so i'd to quit the experiment. Will try when i'd be alone. ![]() To me it luks as if Optra is a new model of Racer. I mean from Body style. And now from your saying that Racer and Optra share 90% same parts. What do you guys say?

Actually the Optra is Daewoo Nubira (you know!), and Racer is a sibling of Cielo, Espero, Nexia, Leganza, Nubira, Chairman, Leman's and Tico! They have various things in common like engine, suspension, ECM's etc. Like any other company, GM has provided various generic things under the name of Daewoo to Koreans! Look at the chart that will explain it all:

I would like to share an online resource of Daewoo Service Manuals. Check the link:
http://chevy.mrmax.dp.ua/EN/ It has service manuals of Nubira(Optra), Matiz 0.8 and 1.0 (Exclusive & Joy), Evanda, Tacuma and Kalos!

@Wik_a
I also have information about the ECMs schematics, that could greatly help in tracing the complex problems related to ECM's! Take a look at these: http://www.cruzers.com/~ludis/
