Honda Atlas- New Price List w.e.f 1st July

At last Honda Atlas has announced its revised price list.

City MT 1344000
City AT 1480000

Civic VTEC MT 1695000
Civic VTEC PT 1815000

Civic Oriel MT 1880000
Civic Oriel PT 1955000

Little Disappointing as compared with Toyota as price or Oriel MT is only decreased by 30k, a mere 1.7% decrease from previous invoice of 1910000 and likewise for other variants.

yes i was amazed only mehran got a reduction of aproxx 20k. While Corolla only 25k

I was sure that Civic price will fall considerably to compete with new Altis but How wrong was I !!

I think that New Altis will drastically effect current Civic sales until the new model is introduced in 2012.
What do you guys think ?

I must say that the price reduction by Suzuki is far more significant than the price reduction by Atlas Honda and Indus Toyota.
They have reduced 37,000 Rs on Suzuki Liana which is a 1300cc car and its price range is below 13 lacs. On the other hand Toyota and Honda have reduced very less on their 2 million Rs cars.

I posted it somewhere earlier..I had similar discussion with a guy in "Atlas Honda" about what's their plans for Altis 1.6 competition and he said...what competition...he remarked there is no competition in 1.8 segment now...nothing much required...no Civic facelift; no price reduction, no feature addition. I cross questioned him about possibility of 1.5L iVTEC City launch and he informed that there is nothing new happening in Altas Honda.

Yes 1.6 Altis M/T on papers is better than Civic iVTEC M/T and 1.6 Altis A/T better than Civic iVTEC A/T; they have got goodies that Civic iVTEC lacks...but its nothing new; 1.8 Altis M/T had more goodies than Civic iVTEC M/T. With all these things on papers in reality; one who wants to buy Civic will buy Civic and one who wants to buy Altis will buy Altis

Honda Atlas did nothing except followed IMC's footsteps. I salute Pak Suzuki thier price-reductions which are (at least) more than HA & IMC despite the fact thier cars are cheaper.

At the end of the day a Civic owner will stick to civic no matter what corolla offers. This is how Honda took market share in the last decade. And this is what i did too

You may be true. I based my assumption on the fact that current Civic model is 5 years old with a staggering price tag whilst its rival is continuously bringing in new products !

PakSuzuki has the highest profit margin thanks to their outdated car models so they can choose to reduce prices the most

Cultus ? Alto ? Liana? all 10 year old cars compared to Honda and Toyota

its not like Toyota is selling the 1999 Corolla or Honda is selling the 2000 Civic -.-

True but what do you expect from a 6 year old model. If anyone is looking for value for money then Civic is definitely his/her cup of tea. May it be Oriel or iVtec
