So the long awaited review of my vitz first session with carnauba is here. As many of you (who have been following me) know that my vitz has been wearing the Werkstat acrylic range and MashAllah continued to go strong for a good 6 months. It was still on but after so many recommendations from pros, I proceeded further in layering the existing protection with a Natural wax. Earlier this year, I managed to place an Autogeek order via someone travelling and apart from other products, I also got my hands on Optimum Car Wax (OCW).
What ? A spray carnauba wax? Why?
For those unfamiliar to the Optimum brand, its a recognised car detailing brand known for its high quality value for money products and the market leader for permenant coating ( Opti coat ). Optimum Car Wax (OCW) is a highly recognised product among detailers and this wax is known to perform like a paste wax but with the ease of spray (wipe on wipe off). That is quite a challenge by the way since not many carnauba based spray waxes can make that claim and are almost always meant for a short term/post wash booster. I have always liked the use of spray products (and my faith on them had strengthened after the use of werkstat acrylic trigger, Duragloss aquawax) and the ease of use is definitely a winner here, without compromising on the looks/durability. Here is what the manufacturer says about the product:

Optimum Car Wax is the only spray car wax that provides the durability of a paste wax and long-lasting UV protection. A combination of high-grade Carnauba wax, sealant polymers and UV inhibitors forms a protective layer on the painted surface to protect the paint from sun damage and environmental elements for up to 5 months.

The mention of "sealant polymers" does make it look like a hybrid wax and thats probably where the durability comes from but its always referred in the category of natural waxes. International detailer swear by that this wax definitely lives up to its claim. Again, as with the Duragloss range, it was priced so decent ($15 for 17oz) that you dont really have to think twice to add this to your cart. Although I ordered a couple of other (more famous) waxes/sealants in the same order, this was the first wax I wanted to try out (naturally because of the ease of use since my car did not really need a redo). I wax session was actually performed in mid January (was pretty cold then) so that was also the reason of using this wax over others (that I will inshAllah be using and reviewing later).
Procedure followed:
So I washed the car with Meguiars NXT shampoo, dried it using a Meg water magnet and once completely dry, I then took a Meg supreme shine towel in one hand and OCW in another. Trigger Spray with a moving hand for increasing the mist coverage, use one side of the towel for spreading (and this side of the towel i continued to use for spreading everytime since it was wet with the product after a couple of panels). Had another dry MF at hand and after the product was spread, I just wiped it clean (although there wasn't really a residue to clean). The product seems to melt into the surface. Smaller panels needed a half spray, medium panels (doors/hood) needed 1-2 and three sprays for the roof. Took me 25 minutes to do the car.
Results:
Very very impressive. I could see instant gloss and bling and most important the wet effect of this wax is great. I had started late and by the time I finished, it was beginning to get dark. A few pictures are from just before sunset time and then I had to go out as well and there AT NIGHT, UNDER A YELLOW LAMP post I took some other pictures. I will let the pictures do the talking from here on
