Rockmars GPS Navigation

Hey guys, does any body used Rockmars GPS navigation device in Pakistan? Actually I have installed Rockmars DD-6206BT in my car. I have talked with a trackingworld personal. He has told me that I will have to install one of their Germin units in my car.

I am seriously thinking that why I have put so much money in Rockmars? My question is simple, is there anyway to use my present Rockmars DD-6206BT in-dash device with any GPS service provider in Pakistan? or I have wasted a good amount of money.

Thanks for replaying. Thats really a good news. I have N96. So how much does that mobile software costs? From where I can get that software? Will all touch screen features remain available when you connect your mobile with RockMars? or you have to operate through your mobile and use RockMars only for viewing purpose as an LCD Screen.

I have personally called RockMars and they say they are not providing any GPS at the moment.

So we are left with following options:

1) Get Mobile Germin software. Update it with Pakistani map. Connect the mobile with rockmars and use rockmars for

We can connect these devices with Rockmars through video in and out.

If you know better ways do update this thread.

Kindly post some pics of your rockmars unit connected with the mobile and running Garmin Mobile XT.

I also have rockmars unit and want to use it for navigation.

This is how i use my mobile for navigation. I am not driving the car it is in the garage i have set the navigator to route simulation to show you guys how it works. the grey wire is coming from the back of the garmin unit. I hide these wires in the dashboard after setting the destination.

I just want to ask about the grey cable coming from the unit that is it for the tv option? and do you click the tv option on the unit to run that navigation screen?

I have honda city 2008 and so far i dont have an idea how to get that grey cable out from the dashboard as i think it is covered from underneath.

The grey cable is coming from AUX or AV in from the back of unit. It is viewed by touching AUX on the screen. Tv option on the screen is for tuning channels. I think you have to take out the unit to plugin the cable.

I do not think that you would need Garmin unit if your phone is GPS equipped and you have installed Garmin mobile XT and Pakistan maps on it.

No bhai the grey wire is coming from the back of rockmars unit. I dont have Garmin unit. I am powering my rockmars using mobile.

The TV out cable of my mobile is attached to tv in of rockmars. And i am using garmin mobile xt software in my mobile. Its simple. I sent you the procedure above(reply #6).

Zaeem89 i really love what u have done with your system really creative. Well so by connecting your mobile you don't need video DVD or MP3 cd nor USB for songs. You can download a song through GPRS while traveling or through blue-tooth from friend. Play a video through your mobile phone. Well i did these things but never connected my mobile with the screen. Thank for the idea .
I have one problem to solve i have to park my car daily in exposed sunlight and heat in my office parking lot which is open. So i need a screen which can take the heat and can be fixed in the console(city 2010). Is rockmars screen good enough to take the heat. I want suggest ant idea about any other good screens. Well i can spare 20k rupees if i have no choice then my be i will think about 30K.

I have heard some people complaining about its sound quality and DVD player.If the DVD video player is not good then i dont care i normally will connect my mobile phone to the screen and sound system.I will play videos, songs and navigate from my mobile. i was planing to buy Rockmars. My prime requirement is to have a screen which can fit in my car's console and can connect my mobile phone's display to the screen. Do you know any other system that can be fitted in to Honda city 2010 console having a screen. Dont care if it has a video DVD or video cd or none i just want screen and a basic system with good sound in 1 part.

bro cn i attach my n97 to a simple car lcd????????and i hv downloaded the map from the link u posted..nw wot to do???simply copy and paste it on mobile memory..or any other procedure???and did v need gprs to use the map??
