PAKISTAN MAPS SOLUTION
FOR IPHONE
Devices supported:
Iphone 3g,3gs,4 and IPAD.
What you need:
1:Jail broken Iphone
2:Wifi Internet connection
For jailbreak please go to iclarified.com for tutorials.
The guide is free and I have search much on internet and finally got this solution. Through this guide you will not able to download a maps of only a city but you can download a map of whole Pakistan. Through this guide you will be able to have access to the maps without data access. I am also posting screen shots of my Iphone for your easiness.
Note:Still you have to access internet if you want to search any place ,hotel etc. But maps will be offline.
Follow the following steps.
1:Connect your iphone to Wifi.
2:Open Cydia from your iphone.
3:It will take sometime to load.
4:After loading touch the “SEARCH” option at the bottom.
5:It will take you to a new screen with a text box.
6:In text box enter “XGPS”.
7:It will take sometime to load and search.
8:When searching will be finished ,touch the XGPS option as displayed in the picture.
9:Now use the INSTALL option on top right.
10:Now it will confirm your installations.
11:Touch the confirm button in top right corner.
12:It will start downloading and then installing the software.
13:When installation will be finished, touch the return to cydia option.
14:Now press the home button.
15:On the home screen you will see a new icon named XGPS.
16:Open it.
17:After opening it will take you to a agreement page.
18:Scroll to the bottom and click on accept.
19:Now you will come to maps screen.
20:First of all we have to set settings according to our preference.
21:So touch the settings button on bottom left corner on maps screen.
22:You will see a settings screen.
23:On the GPS enabled.
24:On the GPS tracking.
25:Now go to GPS tab
26:Now select Iphone 3g GPS from GPS to use.
27:Now go back to Maps screen
28:Now we will download maps.
29:Go to settings again.
30:Touch the Maps option.
31:Select the download maps option.
32:Now drag the portion of the map you want to download.
33:Dragging with 2 fingers is allowed not 1.
34:After dragging ,touch the download button in top right corner.
35:It will ask a confirmation for download touch the yes button.
36:Now enter the map name .
37:Map zoom level should be remain 0 because it will download the map to the most zoom level on 0.
38:Again touch the download button in top right corner.
39:It will start downloading maps.
40:After downloading maps,In settings enable the offline mode for non data usage.
41:That's it. Now you can enjoy the maps of whole Pakistan even or anywhere in the world.
