There is a confirmed Silver coloured 356 in Karachi, it is owned by a friends father who is also a well regarded member of VCCCP and exhibits his other classic at every VCCCP show.
I wouldn't disclose the owner as he might not like that and has no plans to part with it. I have been seeing the vehicle with him since 1994 and he has already owned it prior to that, don't really know for sure since when he owned it but it's been with them for a while.
I last saw it driven in 1998 when my friend drove it to our schools annual ball, and it was misfiring at the time, gears were also sticky and it only found first and second gears.
Subsequently it went into a state of some degredation due to parts getting stolen by domestic servant and getting sold for scrap!
In the interim, the gentleman owner focused attention on restoring his other classic while the Porsche was in storage.
Over the last five years, my friend has been buying parts and carrying them back into Pakistan when ever he visits. I last met my friend about a month ago and he informed me that most of the parts have been completed and the restoration process will probably start in some 5-6 months.
I last saw the vehicle in December 2008 and it was still in storage at their residence. The condition had deteriorated since 1998 when I believe it was last driven but was still very easily restorable.
