got these two beauties today..
1949 BSA M20 500cc
and a
1956 BSA B31 350cc

the M20 especially is in pretty original condition..although both have jap carbs and a few things missing..not to worry as I have a couple of spare Amal mk1 carbs handy ..i don't want to touch the paintwork but will fix it up mechanically..it just looks right with the faded side stand and smith clocks..the B31 however will have to go through a ground up rebuild..

Red...but wait a minute..what kind of business were you in? The car I bought was a smugglers car:o impounded by customs after a chase and shoot out, the signs of which were permanent in the form of bullet holes (I never got those fixed..a great conversation starter !)

He he....Mine was Sebring Red....
I sold the car to a man who turned out to be a front for Khan Motors on Montgomery road.... this man was the only spare part man for Ford spares in Lahore. Let me tell you the scam... engine parts etc of which I was told the car required by the mechanic were duly obtained from Khan motors... after a lot of pleading with my parents who would put up the hard earned and saved money. Every time the man would want to buy my car...Finally I got fed up and sold the car. I only found out many years later ...in the 1990s after my return from England.... that the parts would go straight back to Khan motors for a fee split...... so much for honest mechanics.

Some 2-3 years after the sale.... i think about 1985.. an army captain from Peshawar turns up at my home asking my father to sign the transfer papers as he had lost them... and with the present date.. My Dad the ever trusting soul wanted to but thank goodness my mother prevented it as she thought the story was very fishy.The cars reg was LEV 50. I wonder where it is now

The car was a red..I don't recall what shade of red it was but it was a cheerful red.. It didn't come with papers but the customs gave me a receipt and i got it registered in Peshawar PRF or something. Quite possible it was the same car or maybe a different one..there won't be a whole lot of them anyway.

I saw a similar Jag in F-11 going under complete resto, although the denter working on that car is a customizes cars so I am a little worried, so far its in original shape. There's also an Austin Healey being restored, floors have been done but I didnt notices the original punch design which a British floor should have! I think both cars are they same which were parked somewhere in G-7 for years!

yet another beauty dying a horrific death......same old story.... owner was once offered 2 million but he didnt sell.... blah blah blah

I have a freind who is into such bikes - and I was once helping him out with some repairs. You feel literally p155ed off when there are whitworth both coarse and fine then some SAE and even some complete irritating left hand threads - all in the same bike with no signs for identifying

In the end it was usually me with nut extractors or an impact driver with a BFH. I mean you have to be a sadist to throw so many different varieties of fasteners into one bike.

My freinds toolkit was quite pricey I can say.

The car in F11 and G7 is the same Jaguar Mark9 and the other one in F11 is Austin Healey 100,it's engine and gearbox is changed.Saeed denter have also restored a Chevrolet Belair convertible 1954 although he have not done a very good job on it.Most of the stuff will be made locally for Jag and Healey.All these cars belong to the same person.

first the 2600 touring spider tail lights... these were shared with a Maserati ...the 3500GT spider....
now as i mentioned earlier buffing the pitted chrome frayed the lens housings and these were basically shot... so one of the lights was taken...and put in a CNC milling machine. The light housing was then milled form a block of metal and then chromed. Had a pair of lights made.... COST..... dont ask let me put it this way... lots of Euros...and that in Pakistan

The 1750 has bonnet pins and bootr pins put in... I dont like locks now and attempts at opening the bonnets form in car levers and cables that jam....in any case they look cool.... GTa copies.

The MInis engine in position waiting for the frame to be completed and the mounts ...

The number plate is of Bahawalpur, could be one of the Nawab's cars.
I am sure Mohsin Bhai can shed some light on this.

You are using a Honda engine in the GTV ??? What happened to the original Alfa motor ?
