Thanks, buddy. The X1 is very competitively priced, though 21lacs Indian is a lot of money. One can buy a 2-bedroom apartment in the suburbs and have change enough to buy a new compact hatch.

The Indica V3 is the unsung hero of Indian cars. The one in the pic's a cab like almost all of them.

just got an update on the NDTV INDIA news channel ,that the new MARUTI SWIFT due to be launched on the 17th august has recieved almost 40000 nos of confirmed bookings.
kindly fellow INDIANS confirm the same if possible .
the TEAM-BHP website pegs the figure as 30000 nos..

And, i thought August was going to be a quiet month with the new Swift being the one to create waves. It isn't. It is the UP, from VW. That's the car i'm waiting for really. Too many new cars and refreshers this month so i'm going to devote this page to what i can gather from other websites who also gather from other websites as it is just impossible to keep up with the auto industry here.

The car war is heating up for the festive season that starts with Id, Diwali and XMas and the many festivities of Fall season.

P.S. : New Vista is coming with a new engine or just a facelift?

No price change on the Vista and no major mechanical changes either as the model got an engine upgrade recently. Refreshments are cosmetic through the half life cycle of this model.

If it is all that i might ditch the Swift but it has to be really all that 'cause i had a first look at the new Swift today and was bowled over. The thingy is that the changes are subtle and you notice them in the flesh as pics don't tell the entire story. Anyways, buying a new car is getting mind boggling as the days go by.

If the 'UP' is funky looking, then i might go for it but it will be a long hard decision to make as the new Swift is just what i wanted it to be like from day one. I was at a bookstore earlier this evening and scanned some of the auto mags and there's atleast ten new cars that will be released before the end of the year.:o
