Default 2009 Corolla Altis 1.8 manual starts missing when given full accelerator......

i recenntly got 2009 corolla altis 1.8 manual which has done 86K km on dial......everything is just fine but when i give it a full accelerator it just starts missing...missing stops if stop giving it a full accelerator..... and again starts if i push the accelerator to its full extent.. the missing is between 2nd to 3rd gear.... i wasted my whole day at toyota dealership and at the end they told me NOT TO GIVE FULL ACCELERATOR IF I WANT TO AVOID MISSING...... i showed my car to a local expert mechanic and he told me that it could be possibly a problem of oxygen sensor.... now i am not very sure what to do... any useful advice? or any useful experience??

have you changed the fuel filter? if i remember correctly fuel filter is changed a 80k km. it misses on full accelerator as not enough fuel is reaching the engine, i would not suggest messing with the oxygen sensor, if you suspect a electronic issue simply hook up a OBD scanner, toyota dealership has one and see if any errors, if not then just have th fuel filter changed , check air filter and i would reccomend to run injector cleaner before changing the fuel filter and then change fuel filter, this would ensure that your injectors are in good order and insha Allah your problem would be gone

yes i replaced the fuel filter placed under the rear seat in the hope that might remove my worries but tht didnt help... toyota dealership replaced air filter ,spark plugs etc etc....... even their I.T tester didnt detect any thing....which increased my worries.... i am left with no choice but to believe what local technicianjust said.....

hows the fuel consumption if its really bad like 5-7 km/l then do check the o2 sensor otherwise get another opinion from another mechanic or lets see what experts have to say
remember choosing and going with what a mechanic says it just like choosing a doctor for a operation, you would always get another opinion no matter how experienced the doctor is, even they make worng diagnosis sometimes

bro i had the same issue on my car and it was because of a messed up spark plug, you wrote above that you changed them but still get them checked! and also get the fuel pressure measured, it can also be due to less fuel coming to the engine when rev'd, a fault fuel pump maybe

yeah a messed up spark plug or a clogged injector on one cylinder can also cause it check for the things said above^ and do try injector cleaner and then fuel system treatment addictive if not sure about the fuel pump

If car badly knocks and consumption is bad. Then it is the problem related to O2 sensor.
Go for fuel pump replacement. Your problem will be solved.

Can be O2 and can't be O2. Better hook it up to a scanner and check the MAF/O2 and fuel trims when flooring the car, if the techie is any good, he'll spot the problem.
@Xulfiqar How's the Toyota techstream these dealerships carry? I've the duplicate cable but its pretty laggy...

The TPS tells the computer how far the throttle is open. The computer uses this information to determine how much fuel is needed to maintain the correct air/fuel mixture and when extra fuel is needed if the throttle suddenly opens wide.

Another common cause are dirty fuel injectors. If varnish deposits have built up in the tips of the injectors, they won' t spray as much fuel as they normally do, or will ''dribble'' fuel instead of spraying a fine mist. This creates a lean fuel mixture and conditions that are ripe for stumble and hesitation (also misfire). Look at short term fuel trim (STFT) and long term fuel trim (LTFT) with the help of scanner. If the numbers are high, it tells you the engine is running lean and the injectors need cleaning.

Have you ever had car's throttle body cleaned? I had this same issue. Got it cleaned and everything went back to normal.

you can attach a pressure gauge to the line that brings fuel to the engine and measure the fuel pressure, every mechanic would know how to do that
