Default 11th Gen Corolla (Hornet): An Unlucky Affair

Introducing Corolla GLi 1.3 (Super ECT)
Asalamoalikum respected PakWheel members and guests.
Alhamdolillah, Allah has blessed me with this brand new car after I let
Viper go to its next handler and keeper, after a very satisfying experience of a little over four years. With blessing from Allah (S.W) and friends like you, I hope to make this is a no-nonsense, extremely informative and enjoyable thread just like Viper. This cannot be possible without your support, appreciation, critique, guidance, sharing and participation. So hop in, like and subscribe.

But, the driving experience has not been anything more than average. The only aspect in which this car stands out (at the moment in Pakistan) is its shape.

Moreover, everyone shall understand that 1.3 AT is a car for a person who can spend 1,824,000. other person has 125K more and wants to enjoy bigger engine buys 1.6. Why not any body here understands that 125K above 1.3 or 500k above 1.3 carry relative importance and value. some people dont have even a rupee to spend after buying 1,824,000 car.

Everyone is wise enough for his interest and buy whatever he likes after considering his pocket condition. So please chill . . . .
The cars he had recently used were brand new a few 100 kms driven only one was just 2,000 kms driven. He works for an international financial institution, so they always have a pool of least used rentals at their disposal.

I work in a manufacturing organization which has 100s of vehicles in its pool and replaces vehicles under sedan category every 5 years no matter what the condition is. But i know how every driver abuses and drives new vehicles on highways and roads.

I didn't compare xli/gli to altis 1.6 and 1.8 but I surely did compare these all variants to Grande. Without a doubt Grande has superior built quality to other variants. The paint quality, soft touch plastic and leather seats and steering steps up the game to the premium level. In fact it has better sound and wind isolation which can be noticed by the plastic sheets installed in bonnet and trunk. In fact the finishing on the inner plastic panels of the doors were of better quality then other variants.

Reason is coz there isnt any difference in finish and comfort both are same. Engine wise 1.6 is of course a better car.

This is what you think. And I have just described the comparison done by my friend who has used and checked the three variants thoroughly.

I said all Corollas have same interior he said at least he can say that 1.6 interior is better in finish and smoothness and it was more comfortable.
This is just funny. A comparison made by a person based on his feelings rather than simple facts.
Altis 1.6 is just 125K more than Gli AT. In this additional money, IMC has provided 1.6 engine, alloy wheels and 7 inch infotainment system. Do you expect that IMC will provide you better interior and more comfort within this money?

The interior is exactly the same. I paid a visit to Toyota Airport Motors and they told me that Altis 1.6 and Gli AT are exactly a same car other than the points I mentioned above. Same interior, same suspension, same seats, the part numbers are exactly same. However Grande 1.8L has better interior than both Gli 1.3 and Altis 1.6. The seats are adjustable with leatherette covering. Its dash has got a soft padding, steering controls, more reading lights in the cabin, 8 inch android unit, more chrome on the vents and handles, different instrument cluster etc etc

    ^This.
There is no difference in GLI and Altis 1.6L. Same shell. Same interior. Same seats. Same suspension and same comfort level. Only engine and transmission is different.

Discussion is at pretty interesting point. Those who are saying no difference in comfort among both. My question for those is don't you think power to weight ratio, engine sound, speed of acceleration especially when over taking , not comes under comfort list? I am speaking on the base of experience. Going to buy 1.3 auto but test drove it and opted 1.6 altis. Now a happy customer.
