Default Doing 140 on my xli on motor way

well...on this saturday evening i made a trip to my home in lahore on my xli.....the max speed i touched was 155 km/hr on motorway..however i did not take the risk to take photo at that speed... i touched 140km/hr frequenlty and asked my friend with me,to take pics ..........by the way i and my friend drove the car for 950 km in 24 hour time and not a single problem was faced... the car worked fine with an average of 12.5 km per litre with intermittent use of ac.....brakes were satisfactory and by the way this time there was no ""swaying"" ........and i have not changed my general tyres as of now...... but the car does give rough ride even on slightly damaged roads.

    here are the pics.

To me, it seems like the temperature dial is at normal position. Most of the new cars these days have great cooling system. About month or so ago, on the way back from Las Vegas I was going around 110mph on full ac and five people in the cars and outside temperature was above 107F. Temperature dial never went even a tiny bit over the normal position.

Temp dial half way is considered normal.

Regarding the rough ride. I have been having the same problem with my Corolla GLi. I got so disappointed that I wanted to sell my car. But I think I have found a solution.

I tried the tires on my Civic (Good Year 195-60 R 14) on the Corolla. And amazingly the ride got 75 to 80 % better. As soon as I drove off the driveway I could feel the cushioning effect of the tires and I loved it.

I strongly recomend get rid of them General tires. Get good quality Japanese tires. I dont want to spend on larger size rims so I am planning to get size 195-70 R 14.

Size 195-65 R 14 could also be a good replacement but 195-70 R 14 will be bigger and will probably do well on some speed breakers I have to pass over almost daily.

    You did that on patrol.
last week i did 140 on my liana ff cng, with ac. she wants more but i controlled, lolzzz
but my seat belts were on.
i think 140 on patrol is an easy job for 1300cc car. isn't it?

yes ..the car is on petrol..and i always feel while driving it that touching a speed of 190km/hr is very easy for this car..but u need to have driving experince of that sort of speed ,,,in order to go beyond 160 km mark..........

i think you are right..i was also worried a bit when i ended my journey....infact after crossing Chukrey interchange the petrol was on reserve and the last 30 km or so of my journey,,i had to drive the car on 80km in 5th gear in order to reach the petrol station at gt road after crossing mototway toll plaza....i am keeping an eye on its petrol average........i wonder what might be the reason behind it...but alarm bells are not ringing as of now :|

asd123. Sir I am not worried about you not wearing seatbelts or driving with high beam on. My point is that post something important or may controversial or may be scandalous.
