thanks, this has been the longest and most involving project i've ever done,.. i'e put her on pause now as i'm too tired and it is too hot. for now i'll stick to just driving here,.. but in winter i'll be raising the power output by nearly 25%.
Do people make fun of you when they see you driving it?and wat is the colour called?is it air cooled?
Yes its air cooled
thanks buddy
As Salamo-Alaikum Sameer bhai. Its indeed great looking MashaALLAH.But some stickers can make it look more beautiful.Rather than bodykits.
thanks for the feedback buddy, not a huge fan of kits and stickers as i'm more of a fan of "stock" looking cars (in the case of beetles). my other VW has plenty of stickers on it though.
@Storm,there are times when one gets tired of that never ending one hell of a commute to Khalid's workshop; and getting him to work to your satisfaction under the scorching sun. Yet, there is always that last bit of work remaining. We can never make these cars perfect but as it stands now, she seems all set for those long evening drives... specially when it is raining. So sit back, relax and enjoy the flight!
hey storm. when can i have the pleasure of having a ride in this beauty?
at this moment i'm looking to buy disc brakes so that i can finally add the performance parts that are lying around at my house. safety first.(A)
she's "good from far, but far from good",... as it stands (sadly) there are still many better VW's out there than this one.
hazrat its not how it goes, its how it feels. i want to see how much love and care has gone into this.
Headed down to VWHeritage/SSP today in Burgess Hill (West Sussex)
Anyone wanting to head there from central london, just take the train from Victoria Station towards Brighton. Trip takes 45 minutes by train and is a 3 minute taxi ride from the station. Alternatively you can drive down the A23 to Hickstead, then take the A2300 to Burgess Hill, then the A273 till you get to Victoria business park. you can't miss it.
Pictures please!
anyhow, i needed to pick up a few service parts so here's the list:
Accelerator Cable Barrel (fan shroud)Accelerator Cable Conduit (chassis to fan shroud)Accelerator Cable End Seal (fan shroud)Accelerator Cable Tube SealAxle Hub Nut Split Pin (x4) Carb rebuild kit (34PICT)Handbrake boot (EMPI)Spark plug Wires (Bosch Premium)Tail light Pair (67 bus)and my favorite,... complete original disc brake conversion kit for the 1303!! they weighed 21.25KG so you can imagine the how close i already am to my permissable weight limit on my flight back... but they are worth their weight in gold in my opinion.
i was very tempted to buy a dual carb kit but that would involve either modifying my fan shroud or buying an early style conversion kit. So i decided to put performance on hold and sort out my cars chassis first. sadly they've stopped making the chrome strut brace for the 1303 and the steel one is of "OK" quality so i skipped it for now.
pics below:
there are more pics of the place but i'll be posting them up in the VWCOP page later,.. have to go get dinner for the family.
Nice!
Good good, what exactly is this
I think he posted a private picture by mistake.
@Storm will the airport customs here charge any type of fee/duty on the stuff your bringing, upon arrival?
