the paint on my car was not done in a booth so the finish isn't too good when it is initially sprayed. the finish looks rough so they must smooth it down to make it shine, what i've done is left it rough right now so that there is some level of safety and protection when i take it to the mechanics. when all the work is done i'll get it cut. for cutting there are many methods. i prefer wet sandpaper followed by glasurit polishing/sanding compound, then a thorough polishing on a weekly basis.
currently the front is stock height, the previous owner had fit spacers to make it higher which was dangerous. i have plans lower it using lowering springs but it'll make it a little less practical. in PK everyone cuts their springs but that upsets the vehicle dynamics and i will not suggest it. as for strut bars, the basic bar is ok but ideally you shoudl fit a bar which functions on the X, Y & Z axis, this gives a HUGE improvement in torsional rigidity on these old cars. i'll be fabricating & fitting a front a strut bar regardless if i lower it or not.
people are strange, they'd rather buy a bad ISB/LHR car than a good peshawar car. personally i go for the car not the plate. yes when security is an issue then sometimes out-of-city plates get stopped but the bottom line is that they are still PK plates so there shouldn't be a difference.
please share some pics, i'd love to see it. adn if you have any tories on this car do let me know,.. every beetle has a few great stories to tell.
