They never stop me in the 1303,... there is only one like it in ISB so they all recognize it. The problem is that the stupid checkposts have 4 lanes being forced into one lane which leads to some serious bottlenecks. standing in line with stop-go traffic causes the clutch to overheat though.

I wish they'd stop more big cars though,... almost all new mercs, BMWs cruisers etc in ISB are illegal/NCP/stolen/smuggled etc. unfortunately corruption is a way of life in PK,.. this is another reason i choose not to buy a big car there.

At least with my silly little VW i can say that "i am the only one with a car like this in ISB", unlike every kid with a civic who all have the same bodykit, spoilers, rims & HIDs.

MKII? those things look bad@ss with those extended black plastic fenders (my favorite was the extrawide G60). as for the powerplany you had,.. many ricers would be sent home with theor f@rtcan mufflers between their legs with the torque the 1.9TDi produced.

yep Mk2 Golf 1.6 TD (K24 - 18 psi - 10mm pump head with SD310 nozzles) with a Mk3 16V tranny - my Golf when gunned down the road could outrun any 1.6 stock civic and eat any jap on the highway.

ok guys it's your turn to help me out. Here is a pic of my recently acquired superbeetle, please feel free to do whatever you want with it (rims & paint) I need a little help & inspiration on this build (exterior). anything goes (except panel/roof chopping). Remember this is not to be "Pimped", the emphasis will be on modern engineering and true restoration, i'm not a huge fan of silly alterations.

BTW my 1303 is a 74

initually i was going to paint the engine lid black but then i foudn out that there was already an official VW 1303 model liek this so i decided to stick with orange etc. as for the rims on my car already (now) they are EMPI rims, which is the equivalent to AMG, Lorinser or brabus for MB (so no chance of changing them any time soon).

looks great, but black is a dirt magnetic. infact i have a 67 which had exactly the same color scheme, but then i had to remove black from it, and now its over all red.

but if u reverse the scheme, i mean interchange the red with black, it might make an awesome ride. And i am planning on making a custom chromed bended pip bumper. will look great with ur car. or u can find that newer model bumpers which has place for indicators. but beetle is a beetle with its genuine on top indicators.

i'm not going to do the 2-tone paint even though i'm very tempted to. i prefer evertyhing the way it is. as for a pipe bumper, not fiting in the theme of the rebuild, i want it to look like it is still in the 70's.

do note that the bumpers with the indicators came standard on the 1303 in 1975,... and shortly after the indicators on the front fenders were deleted. i got around this issue by deleting mine and fitting indicators into my headlights.

thanks for the appreciation sir, I took her for a nice long drive today,.. won't be changing anything anytime soon. Everything is in working order so as it is i'm not even tempted to change over to the 34 carb any time soon (will drastically improve the performance though), or swap over to brand new disc brakes (front).

  Its a tricky job and there's a way to do it and one hundred ways not to do it. So make sure you find enough guidance before you embark on this mission. You tube, the samba etc might be a big help. Do search for pictorial explanations.

 And yes!! Do share your experience in detail along with loads of pics :)
