The Day i have decided to have a SUV/off road vehicle many tings/plans started gathering in my mind ,But to sum up i have decided to have a First Generation because of many reasons and its reasonable price tag and easy availability of spares .
Although i am able to have a very good and stock SUV . But the day one buy a Ist Generation Pajero the thing that start worrying his mind is its Stock Diesel Motor :(. I will not go into details regarding the Mitsubishi Engineering and pros and cons of the stock Pajero Engine .But the engine she is equipped is not of my satisfaction.
So i have started Thinking/working on the possible engine swaps in her. as i am not a very good fan of Patrol engines in SUV so my choice became very limited also the very excellent body condition of my Ride not allowing me to go for any cut or weld :(.
Main Points of my Consideration before Opting any Engine is :
1-Light Weight.
2-Parts Availability.
3-Powerful with Reasonable Torque.
4-Fuel Efficient.
5-Maximum Similarities with the stock engine.
6- No Cut/weld or Major Alteration Required.
7-Definately Toyota 
So i Divide The Swap into Some sections and the main Important thing to note is that All ....yes all the work is done by me and my Loving Father at our Own Home ...So its a True D.I.Y :P..
Engine Selection:
Although i wished to have a D4D varient but after alot of discussion and searching and bad quality of available diesel here and injectors issue i have decided my self to stay with the following Choices.
As my wish List includes Turbo and also intercooler so the only suitable options are:-
1- 2L turbo
2- 3C Turbo
Again after lot of things to consider i restrained my self to 3C turbo . as it is a big brother of long running 2C with resonable torque figures.
Tranny Selection:-
Again the first Gen Pajero having opposite 4 wheel Drive Shaft position limit the choice also i am not happy to change the Diffrential or like to Change my Gear shifter Positions. So I have decided to use Pajero Stock Transmission . But also i am not in Favor of having a adopter Plate:( . So planned to attach the gear box Directly to the Toyota. :-#
Turbo Charging:-
Many Ideas About Turbo charging in mind ..may Be go for CT-9 Or Ct-12 or may be opt Garret made.. will also wish to Add Intercooler too.
Detail Work Will Include :-
. Engine and Gear Attachments
. Engine Mounts Fabrication
. Engine Oil Chamber Redesigning and Adjustments
. Cooling System Remodeling
. Complete Wiring of New engine including all Volt/rpm/lots of Gadgets working again.
. Power Steering Pump Re Modeling and Connections.
. A/C Compressor Re shifting and re connections.
. Clutch Adjustments including pressure plate and clutch plate selection
. Air Cleaner Re shifting and Connections.
. Exhaust Re Designing
. Heater Pipes reshiffting
. Lot more tiny Stuff to do ......

I will keep updating the page as the progress in the project continue as it is done purely with our own hands so it may take more than normal time. any useful suggestion is more than welcome.
