Default Toyota Indus to Launch High Chasis Hilux Double Cabin

    Hi Guys
Called up Toyota garden yesterday to inquire about the booking of up-spec D-cabin Hilux (S.A Assembled with 5L Engine) the reply was that they are not taking any bookings as Indus are launching Pakistan assembled high chasis D-Cabin fitted with a 2 KD engine(2500 CC D4D) when i asked about the expected price i was told that it has not yet been disclosed but is expected to be lower than the price of SA assembled counterpart (I.e. 3.5 million)

Does any body have some more on this news? on a separate note do you guys think Indus should launch the D4D engine owing to the fact that it doesn't tolerate Pakistani diesel with high quantity of Sulpher?

will be interested to see all your comments.

Yes it is confirmed. I talked to Toyota Rawal Motors and they confirmed that the Hilux will be launched as a local model, although they only said "do maheenay tak". The models will be Hilux 4x2 S-Cab, Hilux 4x2 D-Cab, Hilux 4x2 Up Spec D-Cab, Hilux 4x4 S-Cab, Hilux 4x4 D-Cab, Hilux 4x4 Up Spec D-Cab.

The Up Spec variants will have metallic colors, A/C, Power Windows and alloy rims. The engines are supposedly the 2.8 Ltr Diesel engine (3L, not D4D), and the 2.7 ltr 3RZ-FE petrol engine. There were plans to launch the 2.5 ltr 2KD-FTV turbo diesel (D4d) engine but that's not happening now or so Toyota Rawal told me. And the imported Hilux with the 3 ltr 5L and the 5L-E Diesel engines have been discontinued on account of this local launch. So if you really want the 3000cc 5L engine, you will have to look for an imported Vigo mate...

Default All the info you want to know..

Actually most of guys here don't know much about it. Let me tell..

Indus is launching locally made Hilux 4X4 Double cabin with 2.5L D4D Engine. Pakistani refineries had reduced sulphur contents in begining of last year so diesel fuel is very much OK for 2KD. Even Irani diesel is much better (Iran has already has Euro2+ regulation).

Also the locally made Hilux 4x2 Single Cabin which used to have 5L-E engine will soon be installed with 2KD D4D Engine.

The Double Cabin is much much more hi-spec as compared to pricey South african or Thai models Indus used to import and sell. If anybody has the pics, please upload....

just a quick update i went to the Toyota showroom near the Thokar flyover on Multan rd lahore. Got to see the manager sales who has confirmed that the Pakistani Hilux (double cabin with 2KD engine will be displayed at all the Toyota showrooms any time after Eid. he also told me that the tentative price tag will be 2.85 Million. He couldn't comment it will be for the basic or top spec.

    @ Qaisarani
may be because they have now reduced the sulpher content in the locally available diesel. I used have a hilux with a 2KD and had to rebuild the engine at just 77K.

D4D shouldnt be as issue as Toyota indus is providing full back up atleast for imported line up (land crusier/Prado/Vigo/Fortuner)
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

All they do is flush the ECU. but that doesn't help the rattling noise or blue-white smoke.

When had issues with my 2KD, did a bit of research and found out that the D4Ds have upto 8 times more pressure than their ordinary counterparts,( hence start without heaters) so when diesel passes through the Nosels at such high pressure it infect corrodes nozels and diesel pump due to high amount of sulpher particles.

and yest eh repairs are costly as they used to cost 75k for the set of 4 nosels.

people who use Highbeams.. once day would suffer too bigtime. People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

I saw the Indus' Hilux Double Cabin. It is really much higher in specs as compared to their Thai or SouthAfrican Hiluxes. Audio is also LCD+DVD player.
