Question Need info on Driver salary for full time and part time

I am new to hiring a driver. Need to know the ongoing rates if I need a driver from 7am to 5pm with weekends off. Do any of the drivers work part-time in the afternoon? My main purpose is to hire for school pick/drop. Any suggestions or driver agency info will be helpful. thanks.

In Islamabad it's 7000-10,000 PKR along with eak ya do waqt ki roti. Depending on the job description.

Don't hire any new unknown guy as he would be a part of your everyday routine and he'll know all your movements in and out. Hire someone who has been referred to you by some trustworthy person. Do verify his background and you should know where he belongs to and where he and his family lives.

9-10k @10hrs/day. One holiday/week. Food is your responsibility otherwise pay him 2000 extra for that. If saturdays are also off then you may offer rs1000 less.

have a heart, I have humble suggestion please forgive me if you feel annoyed. request your lady wife to take driving lessons, give her support & enough confidence with liberty to be on her own for a while kids you can drop & pick-up be her responsibility, for safety & security & peace of mind.

Hiring new drivers is very HIGH RISK these days. Once they are familiarised among school gate keepers the kids their friends tutors the family the visitors the near dear relatives they leak minute details and schedules to criminals at petty price.

Keep one thing in mind, uneducated pair of helping hand is RISK because their primary objective is to make money not to protect your property or family, gone are the days when NAMAK HALALI was more important then than ME & MYSELF.

Please don't feel annoyed by my suggestion, am sharing it out of experience from my very family & extended family.

Normally Drivers are Full time, as part time work as driver is not very good in terms of job security and your timing of 7-5 is full time job.
Typical pay is 10,000 with food if you have a servant quarter they can shift there too and be available 24hrs.

My experience suggest hire a new guy(new to driving field) threat him well and he can work for you for years to come.
other one is some Old person which looks for a easy driving job and regular income(peace of mind).

I would only agree with capsat if you are located in karachi or you have a very lavish style of living.

Other wise there is no such problem like what for a normal JOB doing person.

    Default @qwertyuiop,

I think you meant "TREAT Him well" and NOT threat him well. LoL. Otherwise, a good advice.

A young and new driver will not take care of your car. We had a driver who was 19 and didn't have a license at that time. We hired him so that we can train him according to our needs and with the passage of time he'd be trustworthy and faithful with us. Honesty wasn't an issue here but as he was young blood and got a new car to drive, he drove recklessly when he used to be alone. Did a few accidents and we had to change our minds.

Elderly drivers; you should not keep them. Okay they are honest and calm and sensible enough to take good care of your car and kids, but come on... I would never ask an elderly person to clean my car...

Therefore, a mid-aged mature and married person with kids is the best option. One should always ask some very close relative or family friend who has a driver with him for the past many years and is trustworthy. He'd bring the best man as it'd be his responsibility then.

12 hours is standard with 1 day off in a week. Pay is 10,000/=. Either give rs.2500/- monthly for 1 time daily food or 100 rupees daily. It's not worth asking for 10 hours driver as most of the time salary will not be much different.

lol depends on driver to driver, One which we hired crashed the car the first days LoL but later on this improved and its been 15years now experiment successfull, Other guy which we kept was also new for some time drove nice but then God knows what happened instead of improving driving was getting worse LOL, still employed him for 5 years.
In my case worse experience was the mid aged drivers, they did every thing from driving rash to stealing petrol

be it Karachi or Balakot or Pindi Bhatiaan or Mir Pur media has changed the Psyche of everyone who has never seen a place to get training of discipline & respecting, understanding values place we all know as schools. Media has changed masses since INVASION of cable TV & 'HOW TO' awareness of doing a crime by watching hindi dubbed english movies.

Istafa it was true till 80's not any more my dear friend - these adult male servants living away from families for extended period of time consider minor children 'voluptous' for molesting.

Fuel been a expensive Item now is another 'Opportunity' let alone minor children & selling household information to crimnals

    Wow!

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts

btw I live in Lahore and recently recruited a driver @ 8000/- from 7am to 7pm Mon-Fri and 12pm-10pm Saturday.

He was a pickup driver before dropping off confectionary and got paid a lot less. Is newly married so no trouble for tea or food since I only utilize him when needed to go on car rest he goes home which is nearby my house.

So far so good. I hope and pray that it stays the same

    Thanks everyone.
