I've personally had a few jackets and pants made in Bin Aleem. Old man is not in his best health, quite a shame; and that didn't help with fast delivery. But the stuff fit me really well. Mr. Aleem is one of those old fashioned tailors who know what traditional bespoke suits should look like, and give me some good suggestion.
Mr. Aleem is very keen to communicate, very honest, it was great pleasure talking to him. (He speaks pretty good English too) I left Islamabad a year ago, back to my capital, and it's quite a shame for me not to be able to meet him again soon.
BTW, One problem of having suits made in Islamabad, is lack of good material. One should always go with all wool, but they're hard to come by. I've managed to find some passable tweed, but find 100% wool material is very very hard to come by at reasonable price nowadays. Even in large shops in big malls, they give you half-half material. You have to bring some matches with you and use the burning technique all the time, every time!
I'd recommend getting material from abroad, with good quality/price balance. Fabric made in China could be a good choice. Frankly speaking, European material are probably better, but if you're using them, you'd better find some real full-canvas-lining-capable shop in Europe. Mr. Aleem told me, that trade must have been lost in Islamabad for long. He used to have a tailor in his workshop who could make that, but that old man passed away in 2016.
In comparison, I've had some suits made in other shops, wazir and bespoke. Bespoke tailors claim that they make full-canvas lined jackets, I believed in them, and what came out was still glued canvas, with very very stiff and thick front part. I don't think they really know what full-canvas lining is. I haven't really found full canvas in Islamabad. The tailor in Wazir might have used too material on my suit, with horsehair in part of the lining, and the fit was acceptable, but the problem was: the horsehair would stick out, and itch me.
