Information: Summers and Auto Fans with AC

Hi,

i want to know that in summers should i convert my radiator fan to DIRECT from AUTO. (car is cultus 2014). if not then i want to have some preventive measures so that car wont heat up in any case.

Like

i may ask electrician to put a LED light which tunrs on when the fan runs or i may have a switch to turn it on by myself, if something is fishy.

AND i could add a temperature sensor to engine (external) which could tell me engine temparture.

Any good, solid idea, to avoid any heatups in summer. Please share and guide

your car is new..use good quality coolant and do not alter anything.!!

Your car is new dont fiddle with it. Nothing will be happened to it just keep an eye on radiator coolant.

No need to do anything. Cultus is not known to overheat in summers specially new cars.

nothing will happen.just keep it all stock.or you can install 7 blade fan as i have done in my cultus efi

No need to do any alternation even old cars are pretty fine with auto fan but Suzuki wiring is pretty pathetic low quality grip connectors

Btw use original coolant there will be no issue as there will be no rust system will flawlessly
Problems are caused when there is rust

Brother you are worried for a 2014 model car for heatups?
My 1984 corolla car runs auto fan still.

1st check thermostat valve it shall be in engine cooling system in place, radiator cap is GOOD, radiator is clean filled with coolant prepared in bottled water & the reservoir bottle is kept at required level never OVER FILL the expansion bottle. KEEP fans to run on automatic, kick your mechanic between legs if he attempts to remove thermostat valve or rig fan to run direct. In summers keep tyre air pressure 28 psi in all 4 wheels for optimum fuel economy.

28 ... i rechecked and the person did 32 back and 31 in front. he said its ok to have such pressue, will save tyre. so it should be 28 or 32 ?

28 psi in summers ( may to august when outside average temperatures are over 32 C)

Aoa Dear all I suggest u to keep your fan direct in hot summers ..my cultus 2008 once heat up with auto fan..b coz fan not turned on and ac was also on. Since 5 months fan always kicked perferctly when temp near in the middle. I turned car off immediatly as temp needle above half mark I rushed towards my electrition and verified . He touched relay and again fan turned on. I dont know the reason but car never get hot ever even with ac. But only when fan stops.... so now am driving with direct fan can not take any risk..am also in the favor of auto fan coz engine must need optimum temp . But its true with ac car touch almost half mark with direct fan. kindly suggest me for perfect solution of wiring and understanding of mechanism. bhai, you are misreading half mark of temp meter as over heat. It is the ideal position a temp meter should show when car is on ideal temp. Since you said it reaches half only when ac is used, i am suspecting ur car is missing a tstat valve or it is stuck open. Heatup is stated when temp meter show near to full.

Rest, may be you and you lektircion are more genius than the engineers and company who designed cars.

I suggest u to keep your fan direct in hot summers

never do that,

in past week the avg temp in Karachi was 42C and the cars heated up over the road all were running on direct fans without any thermostat valve, a 1986 corolla running on auto fans with thermostat valve in system did not budged for a moment through out the week, once only i had to add 100 ml of drinking water in expansion tank. While the outside temp was 44 the cabin was at 26 C during whole journey between west wharf & jinnah airport

manufacturer is not an IDIOT to rig electric fans, thermo switches & thermostat valve into cooling system. IF AC is not working that needs to be diagnosed and fault be removed instead of doing hodge podge hunky dory tricks to kill an engine

No no no brother u miss understand.. temp needle was almost high bcoz fan not kicked.....I once replaced head gasket and now can't take any risk in summers... specialy....with ac temperature dam increase... no thermostat valve installed..and no need in summers....it needs in extremely cold areas..I accept company walay pagal nae han..auto fan is built in and valve also...but its true also about poor quality management of pak asembled cars. but am having no issues. Excellent fuel consumption ...no missing... and with ac needle touch near to half also.... and little above C with out ac....

Try to understand thermodynamics. Your car engine will take long time to reach optimum temperature which is set from factory and will wear and tear more if there is no thermostate and fan is direct.
In simple words, u r slow poisoning ur engine.

Believe me, you dont want to address the root cause of problem, and using shortcuts by saying "it needs in extremely cold areas".

Dear am totally agreed with u..car need optimum temp should be for health of engine.... but I can't take risk in summers with ac specialy... fan was always auto .. but don't know the reason y fan not kicked... malfunction not traced in electrical mechanism..will try to find..
