Adding a little more is advisable.

Critical is below the low mark. If your engine oil does not reduce much in one drain interval, its ok. Otherwise top it up to or near to high mark.

measure the oil level after the car has been standing overnight. that way all the oil will drain back into sump. if not, and you add more oil, you will actually have more oil than required which is also not good.

oil should be between these marks, it will raise or lower depending on time and situation of measuring
