It would really be nice if some Pioneer/Sony HU supports OBD. If you come across any; do let us know!

@khuziz, while the Scan Gauge II is a great option, still, I'd still like to have the information displayed on Pioneer or Sony HUs. I'm kinda minimalist type, so won't want extra device installed in the cockpit. Any clues??

I am liking Scan Gauge; as its got the simplest wiring; a single wire that connects to OBD port; no power wiring required and it will not ruine any warranty! Take a look below; it doest look that bad in Civic

Coming from showroom...Alhamdulillah my car is reached there..unfortunately it was almost closing time..will officially be handed over to me on Monday morning.

Alhamdulillah, I have got the car delivery today; lucky me; thanks to GOD; invoice price is 16.85 lacs; 40k recent increase is not applied...it was really very good expereince with Atlas dealer; there had been few bad news in the market; but they full filled their promise that I will get the car in April...

As mentioned in thread' opening post; this car will be special; as it requires changes in the house entry that we started Sunday morning on emergency basis.

The slope was wet; and car is parked some place else for the night...

Special thanks to @fouadbakht whose detailed PM about why he selected VTi convinced me that instead of waiting for Altis 1.6; I should simply go with VTi and this variant has got enough juice. well.. I own a Manual vti Oriel 2010... Resale is not an issue, Not at all. Not all of the pakistanis are running after auto transmission, esp when it comes to 2nd hand cars. I would suggest manual coz Its the BEST!

The Atlas dealer fullfilled his promise; the car came on April 30th; got the official delivery next working day. They even have given the invoice dated April 28th with older price of 16.85. 40k ki dhuzz sey bachat ho gaye

April 26th or April 30th. The local dealer get deliveries on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Insha-Allah in few days; the car is dirty; its been parked in parking lot; as there had been "slope work" going on at house. The slope of the house is redesigned and is now 13" aligned; perfect for Civic; climbs up nice and clean even with 2 person. Its completed now will take the car to home today!

Got the car on Monday; went to market for the tyres next day. Wanted "VIPER" like 16" rims but was unable to find a nice 16" rims. Planned just to change the tyres quick keeping 15" profile. As EuroStar would not have sold as the time passes? I thought of Yokohoma dB with 205/65R15. Its considered good; is soft (good for Civic' suspension) and most importantly many shops have Yokohoma stock (its a running item) so was thinking that I will be able to find the most fresh piece in the market easily.

Could not found fresh Yokohama dB..only A-Drive and that only in 195/65/15. Found at one place in 205/60 but they had very old stamp. Market is flooded with Maxxiss. In 195/65 the options were Dunlop LM703, A-Drive, C-Drive etc. Found Goodyear Assurance which seemed nice..it even had 2010 last weeks stamp. Went to Goodyear shop and they even had 2011 fresh imported ones...i opted for this Goodyear Assurance thing..its 195/65/15; paid 7200 a piece, traded the stock EuroStar for 4000 a piece. I have got a contact of a shop in Lahore as well who has the Oriel rims; lets see!

Yes...these might not be jaw dropping decisions but they were according to my budget I have funds now for registration and InshaAllah in next few days will be going to Lahore for registration and if I am lucky that those rims are new will also pick them.

Few notes after couple of days with Civic

• Hand Brake and Gear Lever are awkwardly positioned; their position might work in Auto configuration; but for Manual the lever is "far"; you have to reach to it...and for person with longer legs; the hand brake touches to the knee
• The emtpy space adjacent to lighter is of no use; the plastic thing there is also very light; @bilal49er suggested this space is ideal for keeping sunglasses
• Took my mom and kids for drive one evening; she commented A/C is "better"; I can feel chilled air in back seat; she also commented that the leg space in back seats is more!
• My wife tried the car one morning when we went to drop kids to school..she thinks its clutch is heavy; City had same; so no difference for me; but she drives Automatic car in routine and some time my dad's Corolla; in its comparison; clutch is heavier
• My wife liked its driving seat; you can move the base up/down etc
• She also liked its different acceleration pedal; she commented that its good for driving with sandals with heels
• 195/65/15 is not a good configuration for the car; you need to have bigger and wider tyres; took the car on highway for short trip; @bilal49er suggested 205/65/15 is ideal
• The engine blows some kind of air underneath; its noticeable when you are parking the car on kacha; @bilal49er informed that it happens only when a/c is on; its the 2nd fan which throws air downwards
• The deck angle is not good; during day driving; you cannt read what its displaying; the stock audio system, Kenwood + stock speakers etc are nice...not top notch; but they work fine!
• The build quality of Atlas has detoriated; the "finish" at certain spots is noticable; under the bonnet; under the trunk etc especially. The City has some plasticy covering for some air-flow under the bonnet; there is no such thing in Civic?
• The trunk size is small; especially the height; in comparison to Corolla, as well as even City. City has biggest trunk I guess!
• My younger kid's most fav thing is Kenwood' changing color; I havnt set it to any color; as my son likes and keeps waiting for its color change
• "City" is more fun to drive within city; its power/weight ratio is better; and its "smart size" is more friendly for maneuvering!

To register the car; there are three ways; a traditional way, the right way and special way. Traditionally; you either give your invoice to the sales person at the dealer from where you got the car or you contact the "agent" usually found outside of the registration office. They charge 1000 - 3000; and takes care of everything. You have to contact the person few times to collect the registration plates and then copy. Dont forget to take the defaced original invoices.

The right way is that you contact the motor registration authority; they give you a form; its 1 page simple form; you fill it out; give the money on the counter; they give you the number plates and let you know when to pick the copy/defaced original invoice etc. If registering in Punjab; the form is available at http://mtmis.punjab.gov.pk/Download/Form_F.pdf and from the same site you can calculate the tax amount as well. There is usually no long queues; and this whole process hardly takes 5 mins; and you are good to drive your car on the roads!

I was wondering once how one can get Special Number as the series start in year start and the special numbers ( <1000 ) are available only through bidding at that time. Even if the number is unused; you cannt get that afterwords. "Investors" buy these numbers; and you can reach them through used car dealer shops or through the agent outside registration office. They tell which numbers are available; you select one and negotiate its price with them. They also try to offer services for registration as well. (which I mentioned above is very easy).

Suggest guys should I simply go and get whatever number I get or try to find some "Special Number"?

The registration charges in Punjab for VTi with 16,92,000 price (16,85,000 + 7,000 freight) is 59,290. You are suppose to get the car registered within two months of the invoice date, otherwise you have to give penalty!

I have to visit my employer' head office in Lahore occassionally; secondly I am told by a taxation officer; that in Punjab' Provincial Budget; the registration charges will be revised (read increased) so want to get this thing done as soon as possible.

One of the things I don't understand in people is that why they are so attracted towards 'SPECIAL' numbers. The purpose of number plate is registration ; not bragging and boasting your ""special VVfukinIP" number.
SO my friend please dont' do that .

Regarding ISB registration; I dont have much knowledge; but I think it must be +/- 5000 of this 59,290. I also heard that if you are not resident of Islamabad (as per CNIC) you are charged additional money (which I beleive is 7k-10k)

The annual token tax of 1.8L cars in Punjab is 7950Rs
