Default Does corolla 2D Saloon 2005 come with ABS brakes??

I'm up for buying a corolla 2 liter diesel saloon 2003 (sorry, it's 2003, not 2005) but don't know the difference between a '2D saloon' and a regular '2D'. Does the saloon model come with ABS brakes??
thanks very much for taking your time to answer my question.

and by the what would be the right price for a very clean car of these specs - thanks!

I believe it did, I took delivery for a relative in Karachi for a 05 model and it had ABS. It also had a DLC in which you could only read SRS and ABS codes.

That car was so "aasum quality" it would sometimes try to shut off while driving. After the toyota guys trying to fix it under warranty and nothing happened, I found the culprit - bad ignition switch. lol

Good thing was you could buy the switch on exact genuine part no. from that same dealership.

2.0D Saloon from End 2005 onwards has ABS. Uptil mid 2005, there was no ABS in 2.0D Saloon.

2.0D saloon have ABS from June 2005 when Indus Motors changed the rear lights and offered new colors and Altis.

@AmeerUsman That is very generous of you Bhai Jaan! Very few people lend a helping hand... i do actually have another question, actually many questions! I've heard 2D isn't very economical if driven mostly within city! Can u please tell me how many km/ltr it does within city? And some people scare me by saying that 2D is too loud, is that true?

We right now have two options; civic 2004 and 2D saloon 2006. Both cost nearly the same. i like diesel because it's economical, stronger and tougher. we r proper pindoo to be honset we go to our village on nearly every weekend and our last civic felt a bit unfit for those roads. what would you reckon brother? which one would be better for us; civic or 2D??
Thank you so much in advance! and sorry about asking a dozen questions .

on a corolla with 2C diesel in newish condition in good tune - expect about 14~15 km/lit as average driving a mix of city and highway. Dont try to rev the engine too high - its useless at high rpm.

Pure highway drive of 100~120 km/h will give better economy.

2.0 D will give you around 15 in city with AC and same on motorway, on expressway you will likely get 16. 2.0 D genuine oil filter is expensive; besides oil has to be changed more frequently as compared to petrol engine. Moreover diesel filter is also expensive and has to be changed every 25,000 km. Furthermore as diesel quality in Pakistan is poor, it normally gives lot of smoke no matter what you do. Engine noise and vibration is also high. In diesel cars, gear changing has to be done at short intervals when moving from stopped position, as diesel engine max rpm is much less as compared to petrol engine. This too is cumbersome. Modern petrol engines are almost silent and give better fuel economy. I didn't enjoy my 2.0D too much and sold it after only 65000 km and 4 years. I liked the quietness and fuel economy of my corolla 2010, and now I have moved on to Civic. I like it even more.

its got the same oil change interval of 5000 kms and has a lot of torque at low rpm, you dont need to downshift from higher gear, just press the go pedal and the car moves like a train.

Different choices for different people, you seem to like high rev engines. The quality of diesel fuel in Pakistan is the same as sold all over the mideast - this quality issue is a tale told by mechanics to cover up their lack of skill.

Firstly, Thanx for ur comments sir.
    1. As far as I have experience with 2.0D...it is the most economical car even at higher diesel price compared to petrol. I had Indus shape and within city drive with AC ON it was giving 14+ km and long drives AC ON average speed 110, it gave 16+. Upper models give more than 18 on long due to comparatively low weight of vehicle.
    2. Yes, diesel engines produce more noise compared to petrol engine, but when u r sitting inside it is not felt much.
    3. Corolla 2.0D Saloon 2006 will be better option as compared to civic. Why? because u have to travel on unfit roads where rigid body survives for more time and more mileage. Civic is not rough and tough like Corolla.

And to be added here. High Torque of diesel engines is a pleasure to drive. Moreover 2C engine is designed to last long on even on pakistani diesel. But remember to change oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter well within time. Your 2.0D will never let u down. And find a less driven car if want to keep it for long time.

    Regards

@AmeerUsman Thanks brother! I'm totally up for a 2D now, considering I find one in good condition. Diesel indeed is easier to drive. Our old nissan 2D used to climb all gobbar hills even while idling. Thanks for the advice.
@Xulfiqar That was pretty enlightening! thanks for that..
