a couple of updates from my side:

1. Got the carburetor serviced today.. to my surprise there was water not only inside the carburetor but in the fuel filter as well. Amazingly the car was running fine on both CNG & petrol. Just that the pick was not okay & was producing louder noise (which i thought might have been due to silencer packing but it was not). Now the car runs as smooth as it use to run before, the louder noise has gone and it took just 600/- ruppes (including labour) for the job to get done. The carburetor butterfly & diaphram was ok. A Malaysian fuel filter costed me 75/- ruppees only. i will post pics soon

2. Yesterday the car started to take hickups on CNG, it was the first time ever i experienced scuh thing. on going a few kms the car switched off by itself & refused to start on CNG, on switching to petrol it started immediately.. i took it to the CNG technician who found that the switch has malfunctioned. The genuine one wasn't available which he said was of 2200 rupees, i got a used (imported one) for 1500 & its working fine. The one which got replaced served for 3 and a half year with my car. will post pics soon

While i was getting my carburetor serviced, a Suzuki Macca motors workshop person dressed in Suzuki Uniform appeared on a motorbike with a carburetor with him.. He defined the problem to the workshop owner and wanted to get it back within 2 hours, since i was there so they were reluctant to discuss the rates but the uniformed person said "yaar itna kaam to laatay hain macca motors walay kuch khayal kar lo".. I was surprised that even the authorised suzuki workshops are getting the parts serviced from road side mechanics, the owner must have been charged a hefty amount but in reality its just like paying for peanuts. The above sentence of uniformed person also shows that its done on very regular basis.. so what makes a difference in going to these authorised service shops?? only peace of mind or what??? and its the same road side mechanics doing the job for the authorized workshop

I think my Patrol/Fuel Pump is not working again as my car is not willing to start on Patrol, i am thinking of getting one that is installed in engine bay not in the Patrol tank...

i would recommend you to keep your car original without any jugaars. once a mechanic told me to do the same but i dint. you will regret your decision later on so keep it the way it is designed.

If u remember i changed the Fuel pump a few months back... :S now i am really confused what to do as the new one will cost around 4k and some body told that the one that is installed in engine bay costs around 1000 to 1200 Rs...

bro i hav the carby 2007 vxr..it was working f9 befor bt nowadys its givin alot of prob on cng like bad pick n jerks while speedings n not giving a performance in 3 rd gear as well..i got it tuned bt still having jerks in speed like 90 n above ..any advise for dis?n yea its only on givin prob cng not on petrol

few suggestions, get your cng switch checked, maybe its not giving the current to the fuel pump. be very sure before replacement that its really the fuel pump that has gone out of order or its a problem with any electrical connection. i would still suggest you for an electronic fuel pump rather than the one in the bonnet. a genuine one might cost around 3 thousand rupees but its far better than those conventional ones in the bonnet.

change you CNG wala i mean seriously get your CNG setup thoroughly checked from another reputable technician. believe me its just a matter of tweaks. maybe there is blockage in your cng kit, maybe not. As zubair suggested get your plug wires & plugs checked.. it wont be a big deal

Aqua Green is back in Cultus!!! Suzuki have reintroduced this color (since it was discontinued in 2001) as i saw one VXRi at the Suzuki showroom at Shahra-e-Faisal and it was looking great would love to see it on other models like Liana.

Hey usman i was out of khi for a few weeks and when i got back, there was this small humming sound coming from the engine. It increased in proportion to the revs. I thought it might be some sound coming from bearing (car was not driven at all during rains)..Any ways took it to my mechanic, first it was thought that the compressor bearing might be bad, took the A/C belt off but the sound was still there..After that removed the belt which drives the alternator and water body.. Turns out the water body is fault hence making that sound...I was surprised since the car is just a year old, apparently the water body's in new suzuki vehicles are manufactured in lahore...Talk about PAK suzuki and their standards :(.. I'll be getting it replaced with a japanese one hopefully next week, will keep you updated

oh.. thankfully haven't had to replace mine as yet ... you were lucky u dint have to take your cars out in rain.. it caused a hell of a damage to automobiles.. my CNG technician told me he had more than 10 cases of blown up ECUs cause of rain water :o

If you have to replace the fuel pump, don't go for the genuine one, as they are very expensive and perform just stock. Instead, try high flow fuel pump from some performance parts shop (it will cost nearly the same) and plz post what you felt afterwards.

For this, you'll need to know existing flow of fuel pump. The stock fuel pump of Suzuki FX is 0.2 liters/minute as mentioned in the service manual. I can't for the life of me remember where I put the Cultus manual.

Ahsan yesterday i went to show it to an electrician and the car started just fine on petrol, but while going on motorway when i try to convert it on petrol, it wont start :S

I really dont understand whats the reall problem with it...

and regarding stock and performance ones after installing performance plug wires i am not in favour of these things...

as the pick of car is not much affected but the consumption is much affected :S

sorry i was not able to update this thread since long as i was real busy with the routines & also the shifting of my home. & i have a lot to update

zubair, i prefer to keep my car as stock as possible without fiddling with aftermarket stuff. As mentioned earlier the genuine is costly but would be tension free for a longer period of time. But before you go for a change, do make sure thats its really the fuel pump that is the culprit otherwise u may endup spending unnecessarily.

almost 10 days ago my car went past 180,000 kms MashaAllah... i luckily spotted the odo when it was exactly showing 80000.. the car was moving at around 10km/h when this pic was taken.

The CNG switch which was changed last month, the old one (on left) was original Tomasito switch, served for more than 3 years & was more elegant as compared to the one currently have (on right)

another eye opening find.. approx 2-3 months back i went to a denter to inquire about rubbing compound polish.. he told me the rates and since i was curious to know the post-rubbing results, he applied the polish on the rear right portion of the car for demonstration purpose.. the result was good but i later decided to drop the idea after consulting my fellows at PW. now when i was washing my car recently i noticed this.. :o

i have intensified the image using photoshop since it wasn't evident in the pic. but the area where the polish was applied had developed sort of cracks.. not too much visible though at a distance but quite prominent when u look at it closely.. maybe it was a good decision not to go for the rubbing thingy since it would have created these cracks all over the body.. better repaint whenever possible but no rubbing

Since i have shifted my house so the daily running has been reduced significantly. When i purchased this car it used to run nearly 100km per day, which kept on changing since last 4 years or so whenever i switched a job or i was transfered. now the daily running is hardly under 40km per day.. its good that the cng filling intervals will be longer since i have noticed i have to refill after like every 3 days, but it will bring a negative impact on the per filling consumption. As i can hardly apply 5th gear now and 4th gear also for a short while, the car now travels in busy traffics with constant start & stops, lets see whats gonna be the average mileage now.
