Yes it is difficult to pass because there aren't proper classes for it it's just tuition for ACCA. Secondly, there's no proper evaluation like tests, presentations etc as in BBA. Also, paper are after every 6 months. And one HUGE/MAIN difference between ACCA and CA (in Pakistan) is that ACCA papers are more practical whereas ICAP papers are more theoretical. ACCA wants to ensure you know the practical application of what you are studying whereas ICAP wants to ensure you know what you are studying. But then the difference also comes in the articleship. It is mandatory for ICAP CA students to do it after clearing module D whereas ACCA students can even clear all their papers and become a ACCA affiliate (those who have cleared all papers) and then gain their work experience. So in my opinion, this balances out the fact that CA papers are not practical based whereas ACCA papers are with the fact that CA students gain work experience (practical application of what they study) prior to ACCA students. UNLESS, ACCA students start working before completing all their papers.
So all in all, it depends upon you. ACCA papers are tough, but nothing is impossible unless you don't make it possible. Make a good schedule for yourself and study REGULARLY everyday. That's the key to success. That being said, the job opportunities are the BEST for ACCA. Whoever said to you they are very less are misguiding you or are themselves misguided. But it depends upon you as a person. How well you can present yourself to the employer AND your personality and communication skills. As my sir said "whoever you will show the ACCA qualification to, he will respect you and can't say ANYTHING to you over it no matter who he is, but where will he catch you? On your experience, your communication skills, your personality, your dedication etc." And just to let you know, there are ENDLESS opportunities for ACCA's in Middle East. You will be surprised to find out how much they pay. I'll tell you, they pay you like CRAZY. After UK, Middle East is the BIGGEST job market for ACCA's and they look for qualified ACCA's a lot. And thank God for us, we have easy access to Middle East and also, all the countries are Islamic (exception of Israel)
As for what to do, that is solely up to you and your decision but if you do decide to press forward with ACCA, then a humble advise to you, START WORKING as soon as you clear papers till F6. This way when you finish your papers, you will have satisfied/met the requirement of work experience of 12 out of a total 36 months. This will in effect, save you a year as after becoming a ACCA Affiliate, you have to work for 3 years to gain ACCA membership.
Hope i resolved your queries.
