Horse Power

It is surprising to note that the horse power of cars is never mentioned in our country. It is never told that a Suzuki Mehran has 20 HP or 25? A 2 liter Corolla diesel engine produces 65 HP or 75? A 1.3 Nissan Sunny has an HP of 40 or 50? And so on. Does anyone know about their horse powers?

Whats the horse power of 1300cc VVT-i toyota cami and doesnt a cultus have more hp than a alto since its got a better engine? Reply soon and i dont think cc=hp

Let me tell you that horsepower has to do with more than just the engine. So a 1.3 litre engine will not always produce the same horsepower.

HP represents the power of an engine whereas CC is the displacement of the engine.

For instance 5.7 L Mustang 74's engine produces roughly 160 bhp whereas a 2.0 L Lancer Evo engine produces more then 200 bhp. So they aint got any relation as such.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I repeat again if someone has not properly understood, horsepower is not only engine capacity, it is more than this. It is gear ratio, it has to do with the design of the crank shaft and eventually the torque produced by the couple. Hence every 1.3 litre car will not have the same horsepower. Alfa Romeo 147 has one model with 1.3 and it generates more than a 100 horsepower

HP is the power of engine. It has no relation with gear ratios etc etc ......

Please go and read the books. If you had said power of the car I would agree but power of the engine means nothing if you dont specify the crank design and gear ratio and the engines rpm.

2:- cc is nooooooooooooooooooot=hp . eg 1000cc alto if produces 1000 hp (lol) then it will beat worlds fastest car
