I receive lot of queries regarding education and settling in Canada . So I thought of opening this thread because most of them are same...
I would try to help as much as I can plus other valuable contributors can lead to a guide for prospective students

1)Which is the best university in Canada for MBA?
2)Is it easy for a Pakistani to get a job in Canada after completing MBA from the top ranking program there? If yes, whats the average salary?
3)How long before I get citizenship if I start working there after my MBA (considering latest developments) ?
4)Any scholarships available for Pakistanis to cover costs of the MBA?
5)Can I work while doing my MBA? If yes, please provide details

Please answer all the above questions in context of MBA from the top university. GMAT score is 720. Work experience 3 years (2 years in an international bank, 1 year entrepreneurial) 5 years part time experience managing family business. BBA (Hons) CGPA 3.3 / MBA CGPA 3.84 (Yes I want to do MBA again)

Can you help me out again? Well I am an Electrical Engineering undergrad from Nust-Eme, graduating in May. My GPA is on the low side. 2.96. I have internships but no work/research experience. My GRE and TOEFL are 1320/1600 and 115/120.
How do you rate my chances at the Canadian big names? U of Toronto? Alberta? Dalhousie?

I want to do a masters (course work) in Industrial Engineering. Do i have any chances of getting financial aid? TA, GA?

And last, when do I apply? Winter 2011?

No experience at all.
Do u think i must have to try getting admission in Diploma course in Canada and then settle ther? or maybe i can get job ther without further diplomas etc..
what u'd suggest.

Well m thinking to go abroad after my A levels. Preferably Canada as i have one of my aunts living over there. I wanted to ask that which is the best university for Automobile Engineering (if not automobile, then mechanical) in Canada? also what grades will i be needing in A levels in order to apply for a scholarship? and can i do a part time job side by side? lastly, i have to apply for SAT right? but some of my friends say that students who have got grades above a B in English O levels dont need to appear for SAT/IELTS, is this true? also i was told that SATII is equivalent to O Levels so i dont have to give it, is this also true? Which is the best university in Canada for MBA?
The word best is a relative. University ranking does not reflects its level of teaching. Almost all the universities are world class. Feel you self lucky if you are studying in either of the top 1000 universities. Following two links will help you in getting Universities Ranking

When you are here, you are not treated on the basis of your nationality. If you are better than a Canadian here, you would get job preference. Competition is very very tough. Salary varies from company to company. Base Salary is 10.55$ I think. Top limit is the one you define

3)How long before I get citizenship if I start working there after my MBA (considering latest developments) ?
Currently Ontario Nomination Program offers Masters Graduate Stream program. Once you complete your Masters from any institute within Ontario
you are eligible to apply for immigration straight away. They take extra 1500$ to process your case and recommend you to CIC which takes further 9-12 month and charge their own fee. I think its 400$ + 400 $ and they issue you PR card . Then you have to stay in Canada for next 1000 days within 5 years to claim your citizen ship. That process takes some time too.. Days spent on your TRV [ student Visa ] are counted as 50% and are added to 1000 days period

4)Any scholarships available for Pakistanis to cover costs of the MBA?
Scholar ships comes time to time. Following one is the latest I know of. Its for Pakistani Students.But competition is very very tough

You are eligible for a work permit after 6 months of satisfactory education. You apply for work permit which allows you to work for 20 hours per week during your studies and unlimited during no studies. Summer etc...

Yes you can get admission Mostly depends on letter of intent and the way you send the application. Your case seems strong

CPA is one of the criteria that decides your admission. Admission depends on course you are looking into.Mostly international admissions are accepted because they are a great source of revenue to them.

Financial Aid, VERY slim
TA, Yes you need to be efficient with the job posting. I taught in last semester. This semester I did not taught because of my tight schedule
GA, I have no idea but same rules as TA

And last, when do I apply? Winter 2011?
Apply ASAP. maximum would be around July August I believe because Visa takes 2-3 months as well

I would prefer you to do Degree because Diplomas are not counted towards Immigration points I think...
Job depends on luck and you but again its pretty tough if you dont have a local degree..
You are in services sector and they are very very particular with hiring. Learn French and Spanish. that will help you a lot

SAT II's are not at all equivalent to O-Levels, there just to improve your credentials for admission to the states.
Canadian universities don't require SAT I/SAT II except a few, the SAT tests are compulsory for people who plan to apply to the United States.
To get a scholarship you would be needing straight A's in your A-levels and O-Levels.

I have already answered most of your questions before above. You can apply on basis of your O levels too. Requirements varies from Uni to uni. You have to shortlist your desired programs and then I might be able to help you more specifically

1.SAT is not required for Canada

1. You need to give TOEFL/IELTS as a test for English Language . general requirements are above 6 in IELTs and above 80 in TOEFl

2. Very limited scholarships are available for international students , like if u have a fees of $ 25k then u would get maximum scholarship of around $2-3k.
   Most of the scholarships are automatically given on entry and some are awarded by giving out tests and essays

3. A levels requirement for most of the universities in Canada is BB

I am currently doin bachelors of engineering.. Have a plan to join simon fraser university Burnaby, British Columbia for masters in engineering... the reason gor choosing SFU is that i have a very fast friend there... my question is:

After paying initial fees etc, will I be able to afford my all expenses by doing part time jobs?

Read my reply for Off campus work permit. Once you get your work permit, you can work and cover living expenses
