    Default Daewoo Racer/Cielo Fan Club

    Dear All,

    I am an owner of Daewoo Racer since 1995. It has proven to be a very comfortable and economical car throughout this period. It used to give an average of 13Km/L within city and ~15Km/L on long drives. Here are some pictures:

    I would recommend buying this car who want a better car at low budgets!

    Any member having used a Daewoo car must share their experience....(y)

    Dear All

    Just had the original daewoo compressor replaced with a brand new sanden 107 compressor

    After this I get vibrations at certain RPMs which are caused by the addition of modified plate bolted to the body to hold the compressor in place.

    Had it replaced and bolted again but to no avail.

    Please guide for a solution

    @Xs

    A little correction, it is Sanden 507. Both 507 and 508 can fit in a Daewoo. Sanden 508 is the ideal selection for a Daewoo than the 507. (Just keep this in mind if any one wants to change the Daewoo's A/C compressor in future) (y)

    Regarding the problem, I think the bracket needs a little re-enforcement to control that vibration problem. Better show it to a dentor for re-enforcement possibilities. If it isn't possible, get another one fabricated having more thickness. If possible, get a kabli Daewoo's A/C bracket and make necessary alteration to fit the new compressor.

    @testdriver

    Thnx for the correction & advice bro.

    Initially I had the 508 installed itself but it was causing quite a lot of extra load on pickup and smooth running, so after consultaion with other sanden shops, had it replaced with the 507

    having experienced both 507 & 508 in mid summer heat i didn't notice much difference in cooling capacities, ONLY the extra load on engine.

    so i am just curious for my own info sake; from what perspective are you saying that 508 is better?

    The 508 has actually higher cooling capacity than the 507...(larger piston size than 507) that's why it put more load on the engine.

    Thanks.

    @Javed35

    Never heard of Sangin..... Here (in Islamabad/Rawalpindi) Mando shocks are available for Rs.2600/=

    @ifi

    Marvelous pick . I think the mixture T is opened more than desired. Get it re-adjusted.
    As far as Heater core is concerned, Rs.2500/= is fine. You can ask for it's price from the Old parts dealers on the numbers given at the first page of this thread.

    @racer33
    Don't have any idea about Daewoo parts at your country. If there are lesser parts of Daewoo there you can ask for Opel/Vauxhaul Astra/Kadett parts too. For indiglo guages contact car assessories shops for designing the guages for your car.

    @AwaisAnjum

    No! It don't live there, but I think I had once gone there to a friend's house (y).

    My teacher has a woo Racer. He use it rarly (only 15-20kms Daily)and with very low speed 40-50kms/h. He put cheap engine Oil (DURM WALA,
    RS 100/liter) in his car. And change it after every 1500kms done. Is it harm to engine? (while engine never reduce oil)

    (n).....It is definitely harmful. The drum oil usually have containments that adversely affect the engine internals.

    Assalam-u-alaikum!

    I hope you are fine. I am having some issues regarding CNG consumption.

    1. I have done two tune-ups within the past two weeks but consumption is on the higher side. Pick however is excellent. I have also changed air filter with original one and also the rubber/ cardboard seal under the air filter box.

    Two mechanics have suggested that Tappets need adjustment. Since Daewoo has self-adjusting tappets, I am not sure whether I should go for it or not. Also if it is essential, then who will do them?

    2. My car's starting in the morning is a little awkward. I have to keep a finger over the opening of air inflow pipe while ignition to start the car up. It’s fine during the rest of the day. What could be the problem?

    3. I want to do a throttle intake cleaning. Could you post some DIY tips.

    Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.

    wat about average consumption in one cylinder for city or long route. I faced the same problem which u mentioned in point 2. i didnt face this starting problem on daily routine, but if i went for long drive 100 plus km than next morning Cng failed to start(only in winter, never in summer), so i had to start on petrol and second option told my mechanic to put finger on Air filter pipe. so i have no more problem regarding cng , excellent pick and consumption. i am running my daewoo from last year and didnt spend a penny regarding CNG or concerned parts. facing just starting problem in winter morning which i have sold and i start on petrol and just convert to CNG. i hope testdriver can help u..

    @Welcome786

    Did you get it scanned? If not, better get it done. I think either fuel pump or the injector has some problem.

    @Javaid35

    Top portion of shocks ....I think you are confusing the complete shock assembly with shocks. Actually the dead shock is brought out of the assembly and then new one is replaced in. I am not sure about Sangin, but if the parts dealer is trustworthy, you can go for it. Kabli are still not advisable.

    @Daemon

    In winters, due to hard engine cranking in the morning, more battery power is required as well as more fuel. So, it is advisable to avoid engine tune-ups during winters. For a better startup on CNG I have a working formula:

    Boil around 1 Litre of water and then pour it on the CNG regulator before starting in the morning. You will get better startup on CNG in winters. (y)
