That's not bad; mine gives me 10km/l in city with A/C on. Though it's an 800 cc engine, it produces 50 horses and consumes proportional fuel.

    1. Oh dear also check if you are getting full measure for a litre of petrol? They put in 10 litres which is actually 8 litres and we calculate the average on the basis of 10, that's why the difference.

    2. But it is also common comlant that Chevy 800 has high fuel consumption problem. I met a guy in Islamabad who is expert in repairing EFIs and ECUs, though he has stopped this work, still many Chevy wallas contact him to check its computre coz the car drinking too much gasoline.

I also have a Chevrolet Exclusive LS. I had a Suzuki Baleno and it was giving me 12.5 in Karachi. I was expecting a lot more from my Chevy, but it's has given me 13.3 till the time. I have driven it for only 650KM now. I will keep an eye on it after the first free tune-up. I also have another question: My car is breathing (in urdu - guthti hai) when it slows down especially in second gear. The dealor says that it will be fixed after first tune-up. What do you guys think? Did anybody of you have the same problem?

    Thanks

Yaar we have two exclusives one with me and one with my cousin. we both got it same day and both these cars have this problem of high consumption of patrol. i should admit that we were successfully made fool by these chevorlet guys as we had option of santro also. anyway i have now fixed CNG in my car. but it is true it gives only 10-11 km/litre.

Well it should be because of the ac and also the power steering version will give less milage then the non-power.
Also keep in mind the fact that chevy's body is far more stronger then santro's and therefore it's heavier. In case of an accident, santro is totally crushed whereas chevy is extremely safe. So you have to pay a price for safety and I think it's worth it.

Thanks for the information. I am also thinking of putting CNG in my Chevy. The dealer says that the warranty becomes void if we put CNG in it. What's your case?
Another problem with my Chevy is that it's only 650KM old and dashboard has noise... especially the glove box and audio player case. I run my car mostly for my office travel. I cover 70% clear road while 30% is not good.

    Do you suggest anything?

    Thanks

i get 14 consistently in karachi city with a/c in heavy traffic and 16-17 without a/c. now have 2000+ km on car. in these posts people are quoting a wide range of figures. essentially there are a lot of factors that effect your consumption. how hard you drive it, how many people in the car, how much stop and go traffic, how fast you go (wind resistence doubles over 80km/hr), etc...bottom line, what efficiency you get from the chevy is up to you. overall, an "A" in comsumption, no need for CNG and its headaches as far as i see with this car.

The fuel consumption for Chevy is same as Santro. The body and comfort is much better in Chevy. Safety is the biggest advantage in Chevy but you give it importance only if you have seen a major accident..!!!

I recently completed a number of trips on Chevy (7000 km). The car had 2 adults, 2 children and luggage. here is mileage I got:

Lahore City (without luggage): 14+ km/l
    Motorway: 17+ km/l (speed b/w 110 - 120 km/hr)
    Taxila & Islamabad: 18+ km/l (Speed b/w 80 - 100 normally)
    GT road: 18+ km/l (Speed b/w 90 - 110 km/hr)

In Lahore, I always use TOTAL petrol station in Allam Iqbal Town and it certainly gives good mileage. TOTAL petrol station in Gulberg (near Hussain Chowk) was the worst giving less than 10 km/l while permring the similar daily duties..!!!

Personally I did not like the car in the beginning but after som long trips, I think its worth spending money on Chevy rather than Santro..!!! My experience with Santro with similar milage was extremely bad on GT road..!!!

    But..
Chevy milage is ONLY 11+ km/l in Lahore city with AC..!!!

    Still
I think its certainly worth spending money on Chevy..!!!

What about hidden cost of installing CNG? I mean to say that if one compares a CNG installed car with a petrol one following are the factors that must be evaluated. CNG setup produces lesser pickup, extra load, faster deterioration of suspension, needs extra acceleration resulting in more frequent oil and filter change, requires frequent tuning, demands for optimal air filter setting. Moreover in this case as this car has lesser road clearence spacers must also be introduced. An EFI kit+cylinder costs around 50,000 plus these days and if divided over months as per the monthly consumption along with all these expenses the break even is touched in years. The turn that car market has taken these days I personally don't think that people are going to retain their cars for more than 2-3 years on average. My opinion is that CNG option should be considered for older cars not for new ones. I expect healthy comments and no heart feelings.

Its an EXCLUSIVE car for VIP ppl , let it drink petrol , if its fuel consumption is out of your budget , you can always buy some smaller car ... kidding man. Ya theres another car called EXECUTIVE santro executive, that also is a VVIP car with company fitted chauffer in it , must be very heavy on petrol too.

Hi bnasir, could you tell me where did you buy it from in Karachi. Becuase I think my dealer (Prime Defence Motors) doesn't have qualified people in their workshop. May be changing the workshop and thus the mechanic will have a good impact on my car.

Santro 1.0l is a 55hp vehicle whereas Exclusive 0.8l is a 51hp. Can't you fig out the diff?
The new 1.0l Excluso is gonna be a 64hp car so expect more fuel consumption.
I second bilal's comment that excluso is way heavier than santro. so that also disturbs fuel consumption if you compare it with Santro.
