Well I think it'll be good for the beginners to know about this aspect of the photography and experienced guys will feel good by helping us ...
I thought we needed another thread for this discussion because the other thread which i created for assignment was getting more details about this aspect of photography
So guys feel free here to discuss and learn about it ...

Those who think kit lens 18-55mm cannot do anything should rethink

Here is my set-up for kit lens macro
Pic taken with mobile. These are hair bands used by ladies and are frequently available in home

I have no experience with extension tubes however i am extremely happy with the results of my macro convertor Raynox DCR-250.

The good thing is it can be mounted in front of any lens and doesn't need adapters.

Here is a latest example and the convertor is mounted on 18-55mm kit lens

One more question; in manual lenses I can set the aperture using ring (in my case I have to press the two buttons that get pressed automatically when it goes into respective camera body and doing so the aperture blades open). What about these "digital" lenses? I guess we are restricted to the lens' widest aperture (lowest f-Number)?

I was in Lahore today and on my way back visited Chamberlain Road hoping that I might get something but couldnt find anything "reasonable"

Global Photos had the "reverse lens adapter" for Canon 18-55 (mine is 18-135 :() and was asking 2500Rs (i didnt negotiated) You mount that "adapter / ring" to the camera body and then mount the lens in reverse to that adapter. Lens' filter screw-ins are used for mounting it in reverse to this adapter
New stuff is coming on Oct 5th at Billu Photos and Billu Bh confirmed that there will be Focus Rings (but not Magnifier) and Lens Adapters as well.

Aperture cannot be changed in this one as it isn't mounted but just tied to the body. It shows 00 for F number when i use cam in this set-up.

So, the variables can be shutter and ISO. Hence, tripod is a must.
