A.A. Dear Pak Wheelers
First of all, thanks a lot to everyone for liking and appreciating my first ever travel log for my recent trip to Kaghan Valley in June 2010:

While we are all praying for those stuck in flood disaster in Northern Areas of Pakistan to reach their homes safely, i think we wont be getting any fresh travel logs around KKH for a while.
So, i decided to dig a beautiful and memorable trip out of my huge collection to share with you all.
Group: 7 members including myself, my brother Muazzam, 2 cousins Waseem & Sunny and three friends Mubeen, Awais & Khurram.
Distance covered: 3078 KM
Trip cost: Rs. 58,000
Cameras used: Sony Cybershot Point & Shoot and two mobiles
The trip went as follows:
Day 1: July 1 2007
We reached Mansehra early morning around 6:30 a.m. through Niazi Express from Lahore. From there we took jeep and travelled on KKH all the way to Chillas where we stayed in Shangrilla Hotel for the night. We stopped at Bisham for lunch and reached Chillas around 8:30 p.m.
Day 2: July 2 2007
We left Chillas early morning at 7 a.m. for Astore. Reached Astore around 1 p.m. We got a hotel and put our luggage there and went for Rama Lake after a little late lunch. Over night stay in Astore.
Day 3: July 3 2007
This was a long long day so we left Astore at 6 a.m. for Chillam Chauki from where Deosai Park starts. We crossed the whole Deosai plains and main stays were at Sheosar Lake, in the middle of plains from where view was very extraordinary in all directions then finally at Bara Pani bridge. Then we reached Sadpara Lake and had a small stay there as well. Finally we reached Skardu and found ourselves a reasonable hotel. We immediately departed for Skardu Fort (Karpachu Fort) which was up on the mountain in the background of Skardu city. After this we went to another old fort of Skardu and had the honours of meeting Prince Raja Jalal Hussain of Skardu as his residence is adjacent to this old fort. Overnight stay in Skardu.
Day 4: July 4 2007
Next day we woke up late and left for Khaplu around 10 a.m. We stopped at a big waterfall on our way and then had lunch in Khaplu. We discussed the whereabouts of Khaplu with the owner of hotel and he suggested us that for a 2-3 hours visit the best and a very unique place to visit is Surmo Brooq village which was situated above Khaplu on the incline of the mountains in the background. We also saw Masherbrum peak from a small hill in Surmo Brooq village. Ovrnight stay in Skardu.
Day 5: July 5 2007
Started our journey back towards KKH at 9 a.m. and our first stop was Shangrila Resorts. We did not have time for Upper Kachura Lake so dropped it to reach Hunza in time. Joined KKH around 4 p.m. and stopped there to have some distant views of Nanga Parbat The Killer Mountain. We continud our journey towards Hunza and reached there around 7:45 p.m. Overnight stay at Hunza.
Day 6: July 6 2007
We left Hunza at 9 a.m. for Borith Lake and after that we went to see Hoper Glacier. We had our lunch in Hoper village and returned to Hunza by evening. Overnight stay in Hunza.
Day 7: July 7 2007
An early morning visit to the Baltit Fort and started our journey back to Mansehra through KKH. We stayed in Bisham and reached Lahore by 11 p.m. next night.
