We were total 5 persons. Me and 4 from Bahawalnagar group. We did breakfast. Jeep was waiting for us. About 7.30 or so, we were on jeep. The jeep driver wasted our one hour for opening of lock of his dashboard. As the key was lost by him. At last, he has to break the lock.
The journey started at 8.30 for Deosai. The road started climbing and we saw Skardu City at our back. Initial part
of road was mettelled. Soon we were welcomed by a gushing man made nala/waterway descending from lack. We seen the grid station, power house. At last we get the first sight of the lake. It was initially a greenish shade...
We saw the old road buried in the lake as height of water increased due to dam construction. We saw the drowned PTDC Hut and trees. Sadpara Dam/Lake water is used for drinking water in Skardu and also it is used for electricity generation supplied to Skardu City.
Then Sadpara Village, then we entered Sadpara Checkpost Deosai National Park. Looked backed the Sadpara lake in far. The trek started with a semi barren tarrain. with mor-pankh trees.
Then signs of alpine vegetation appears as nearing the Deosai plains nearing.
Then came the Sadpara top. A resturant was there. Toilets were available there. Drinking water also.
Then we made a lot of stops at deosai for shooting the flowers. Then finally at a little stream, we dipped into its cold waters and slippery stones. Then a water crossing came and then finally the dream come true and we reached the Bara Pani.
We seen the fish below the bridge. The water was approx 10 feet deep. Another RCC bridge was under construction here. Had tea at the bridge. Then water crossing of Kalapani. And then we reached the Sheosar. I will call it mighty sheosar. Upto Sheosar, cars can easily make via Chillam.
It was afternoon. so it got cool and I took my upper. Had Tarbuz at lake gifted by another visitor. Superb views scenery at lake.
Tried to spot Nanga Parbat, but all in vain though weather was clear. Don't know the exact location from where the Killer mountain can be seen. (Though not seen, but Killer mountain called me at Fairy Meadow next day by seeing my love)
The area Sheosar to Chillam was exceptionally beautiful. Reached Chillam at 5pm Chillam was extremely beautiful. I asked Army person for Burzil/Minimarg. He said, NOC is required from GHQ.
They permitted us to take lunch/tea. We had take lunch/tea from Chillam. Very nice people though lacking in facilities.
At 7.30, we managed to reach Astore. The area of Astore River Valley is exceptionally beautiful can be called a Pine wooded valley with a gushing white water e.g. Naltar, Kaghan, neelum etc. Though these cannot be compared to each other. Fishing is exceptionally popular there. The more than 100 locals were seen fishing over there at various places. The group was a little bit disappointed for not having more time of this Valley. Chillam to Gorikot area. This valley
At 7.30 reached at Kamran Hotel Astore. Astore is very narrow valley. Damm sa ghut-ta ha.. city k roads bhi bohat charhai walay hain. Main bazar etc.
My camera memory card was full at that time. I was very much concerned abt that and as my next target was fairy meadow. I tried to get memory card from Astore but all in vain. Astore though a district but very much low in facilities.
But with the help of Allah, I managed to resolve this issue next morning. I found a shop (internet club), i copied my pics on my flash and emptied the card.
Had lunch and slept. The group decided to go on the same jeep upto Naran/Lalazar/Saiful Malook worth Rs. 8000/-.
Thanks
