Moving on...trying to catch the writing on the back of the truck.
Stopped at this petrol station to freshen up while we waited for the 4th car.
and we're moving again...
We pass several date palm tree plantations along the way.
And mango orchards along the way...
More date palm tree platations...
Between Khairpur and Sukker, there are acres and acres of symmetrically lined date palm tree plantations...as far as the eye can see.
We crossed Kot Sabzal at about 6:30pm and took a sigh of relief. We didnāt want to be driving in Sindh beyond Maghrib so we had to pick up speed. Our first overnight stop was in Bahawalpur where we reached at around 9pm. So that would be almost 15 hours of almost continuous driving. We had pre-booked 4 rooms at the Pak Continental and paid Rs 2500 for an overnight stay.
This thread is going to be very intresting ! Keep up uploading pictures !
My kids after a long ride...finally in the hotel room for some much needed rest.
This is the place we stayed overnight.
The next day, we left Bahawalpur at around 10:15am and headed to Islamabad via the Lodhran-Khanewal expressway.
ongoing...
2008
travelling towards the Lodhran - Khanewal expressway.
A red brick kiln...
Green acres in the background...
this is where all the cut tree trunks were headed for...
A brief stop to fix a puncture before taking a right on to the expressway...
Green fields as far as the eye can see.
wonder why they call this the Lodhran - Khanewal Expressway...nothing express about it! though you get to see the nice country side
