We crossed Kot Sabzal at about 6:30pm and took a sigh of relief. We didn’t want to be driving in Sindh beyond Maghrib so we had to pick up speed. Our first overnight stop was in Bahawalpur where we reached at around 9pm. So that would be almost 15 hours of almost continuous driving. We had pre-booked 4 rooms at the Pak Continental and paid Rs 2500 for an overnight stay.

2500 for 4 room???

Had to stop to get some kilos of absolutely mouth watering, firm yet juicy peaches. We dont get them like this in Karachi.

We stopped at Sahiwal Daewoo Centre at about 3pm for some refreshments

We reached Lahore just after 5pm in time for Asar.

We quickly decided to break our journey in Lahore. Had we kept on going as planned, we would have arrived really late in Islamabad.

wonder why they call this the Lodhran - Khanewal Expressway...nothing express about it! though you get to see the nice country side

True but it saves you from the nasty traffic of Multan and its broken roads , overall it is a better bet to go from Lodhran-Khanewal route.

Since this wasn’t a scheduled stop, we had to quickly arrange 3 rooms for the night (one family decided to head to their relative’s place). We stayed at the Sara Continental Guest house in DHA and paid Rs. 2000 per night.

Once we had freshened up we headed to Hardees for some juicy burgers.
