The driver survived but Dr.Tanveer died after severe head injuries. After watching those pics i don't know how the driver survived.

May Allah(swt) forgives all his sins and grant him jannah.

A minister's son died in a crash back in early 2000s and they still didn't give so how can you expect them to give now? In fact, the minister filed a case that the alloy rim(s) broke which is why Toyota Indus stopped giving in S.E. Saloon.

Passengers should learn a lesson to fasten seat belts, it is clearly written he was laying in the rear seat so am pretty surr air bag wont have helped.

But yes two air bags and abs breaks should be compulsary not just for toyota but also honda and suzuki

Minister's son died in 1.6gli which was equipped with air bag but it did not deploy as the driver seat belt wasnt fastened and for alloy rims im pretty sure they were cost cuttimg

Anyway as far as safety what should I say. Looking at the car.. It seems it wS card board. I have been always saying no one is bothered about it. Corolla in USA till 2009 had only 4 airbags and no side impact bars and IIHS declared it with poor crash ratings in side impacts.

2010 onwards onwards the rating is G/ good as Toyota introduced the new measures.

The crash rating clearly show that without side safety in place the rear passenger can die from head injuries. Let me see if I can find it.

yes there were few models without it.. but major issue was no side air bags. There is a also a strict regulation on the type of material manufacturer use in the A and B and C. pillar. Now corolla have it. below is the image of dummy in rear seat with side impact. The dummy is electronic sophisticated device (with avg weight of human, heart , liver, brain and so on) and measured the force and found that without side safety, it can result in head and skull injury and death. The dummy was in seat belt.




Overall evaluation without side airbags "P" which from kindergarten we know means poor.

current minimum safety standard

Safety is the last on these manufacturers Indus/Atlas/Suzuki's mind. Front driver plus passenger, side airbags , front and rear crumple zones MUST come standard like Engine in every car.

Lol why? No I wasn't smiling, this topic made me gloomy. And that blood, well such pics have always been removed from PW and I think that's a good idea for a properly moderated forum which is used by all kinds of people. For some of us, this might be disturbing enough.

May be I am wrong but I still posted for the sake.

P.S: I am usually smiling just like Dexter when I post. People here think otherwise and that's the fun part

Damn! What complete and utter devastation. May the family of the victim find the strength to deal with this tragedy.

No one can be sure if the deceased could have lived had he worn his seatbelt, but you never know. Ladies and gentlemen, please wear your seatbelts and make sure all occupants wear them too AT ALL TIMES no matter where in the cabin they might be seated.
