I feel Jattboi is offline for quite sometime.
In fact, 95% of such jeeps, fabricated in Mandi Dabwali - Malout - Sirsa belt do away with the front wheel drive for reasons.
First of all the engine choice is always a Toyota 2C which comes with a rear wheel only transmission, 2ndly the front wheel differential housing restrict the engine sump chamber. Above all, there are a few places in Punjab or around where these jeeps cannot go without a front wheel setup.
Every village in Punjab ( almost all ) have around 5-8 such jeeps on average. Some have even more. In Chandigarh thre may be around 500 such jeeps.
These jeeps come very cheap at around 1,25,000 to 1,75,000/- depending upon how much you addon like alloys, radials, front independent wheel suspension, leather seats, AC etc ).
The quality and workmanship is remarkable and upto factory standards, if you ask for and ready to shell out just Rs.10,000/- etc for new components for wheels, brakes, meters, battery etc.
