may be sharing my experience would help...
i also had the same 0.7M budget that u ve got, though i dint consider liana (resale issue) at all just becoz i thot that i would save some more money and increase my budget to 1M in a year to buy a civic 05.

anyways i ended up stretching my budget to 775k and got myself a exi 2002 but since that day i am spending all my savings to set this car as per my likes..
i have changed the whole suspension, new tyres, mounting and a few other maintenace works and now i just feel like bearing this car...

it's not that i was an idiot to buy this troubled car, we usually check body and engine while buying a car. with these old models you never know what's coming next till they are with for quite some time...

so my advise would definitely be a newer liana, just find one that is well maintained and nicely kept.

Thanks a lot guys I really appreciate your support and sincere advice.Now based on experiences from all of you I've decided to OPT for LIANA OR PLATZ.
I'll search for 1.3 FF Version Liana CNG and PLATZ in good condition.
In that case i would be considering upper models.

Buddy i was facing same pb few months back everyone advising to go for old civics and corolla instead of liana but i took the decision in favour of 2006 liana and driven it 11000kms on highways and city and found nothing wrong with the car just spent rs8000 on suspension and installed new tyres the very next day of purchase as i mostly drive on highwys at high speeds so didnt want to take any risk. So go for a 2007 liana u wont regret inshaAllah. best of luck.

bro i also have a platz on cng...i find it underpowered since it's a big car with 1000cc engne. Plus only go for manual transmission imported cars if you plan to run them on cng.

go for platz new shape (03 to 05 models)
i recentely purchased a platz 05 and regstrd in 08.
the car is driven only 38 k and that too only on petrol.
it gives me best mileage within city aswel as on highway.
dont need to instal cngas it hardly makes any difrnce.
im sure u would love the drive and comfort plus economy.
and my last suggestion dont just believe in theories take a drive of
liana and platz and then decide urslef.

a civic would be better 98 -2000 model civic on cng ive heard is pretty good plus platz n liana give much probs on CNG...messes up the engine...

Your 100% right with CNG i can save a lot of money at the end of year
e.g my current usage cost is 4000/month and if drive my coure on petrol amount would be doubled.
it means saving 48,000 every year almost equivalent to one month salary.

I agree with you CNG ruins VVTI and DOCH engines.Today my cousin came up with excellent idea initially it sounds weird but he had point.
Platz Market value with/without CNG almost same
e.g 2002 platz with CNG is around 7 lacs and one only driven on petrol has little bit advantage tht engine could be fine so price would be 6.90 lacs
He told me buy one with CNG sell the kit in market which can give me minimum 30,000 rs and use that money on petrol.
I know it sounds strange but in the end saving factor keeps alive.
