Pretty Pink Missile

Usually no more than just a little blip on our radar, the Toyota Celica is a truly underrated member of the sport compact family. However, this particular GTS showed up on our screens as a very loud and imminent threat!
Built by Christine Gardner with the help of her husband Corey, no corner was cut in transforming this Celica into the head turner you see here. With the exception of the paint job and welding of the exhaust and doors, everything that has been modified on this car including the body work, was done by them in the comfort of their own home garage. Usually, making killer show cars takes a massive investment of time and money yet not in this case. “The money side hasn’t been that much of a hurdle” said Christine “many of the parts were purchased by money that was made off selling our own custom designed parts for the Celica on eBay.”
This pink projectile is no push over when it comes to power either. The roots style Greddy supercharger gives Christine the option to blow the doors off any unsuspecting ricers that may be “hassling” her on the freeway. Christine isn’t completely satisfied though. “I’d like to get a smaller pulley and somehow get an intercooler setup to work with the charger”. Not really that far out of reach if you ask us. But when asked about going to a Turbo set-up this is what she had to say…“Maybe sometime in the near future, but I think my husband and I both agree that we will pick up another Celica someday and do that one all performance with a nice turbo setup.”
So what makes this whips interior stand out so much? Well to begin with, the color matched black and magenta leather seats do a great job of drawing your attention into the cockpit. Once inside you can have a look at a Kicker system designed for one purpose only, to please those fleshy sound collectors on the side of your head called ears. Kicker Comp subs throw out meaty bass and the highs are separated with Kicker tweeters. With all that phonic goodness filing Chrissi’s head, she’d never be able to hear any warning bells or whistles informing her of malfunctioning systems. So she uses a nice tidy set of AC Autotechnic gauges to provide her with all pertinent flight data required for quick take off’s and the climb to a comfortable cruising altitude.
Opting not to go with Stealth black, Chrissi chose hot pink instead. The House of Kolor Magenta Pearl paint was chosen to turn heads and an Orion Silver Base really helps it pop. A Carcept 6 piece body kit was chosen (only one of 4 in the U.S.) to wrap the bottom half and put Chrissi that much closer to the asphalt. Shaved door handles help keep unwanted travelers out and a C2 Lambo door kits raise the doors so you can slide your butt in. All of this is riding on 18’ Nex-O M20 wheels with Kumho rubber. Last but not least, if you peek inside those rims and you’ll see an AEM big brake kit ensuring Chrissi can make a safe landing after she’s done downing enemy fighters.
