1.3 cc different engines in vitz

guys, one of my friends is looking to buy 1.3 vitz, i had it and sold it long time ago, it had 2nz fe engine, same as of xli

but i have seen many car 1.3 vitz which has some different engine but they say its 1.3, which one is that engine? model etc. and how is its perf compared to xli's 1.3....
