1.3 mt Corolla / Yaris

Kindly suggest a good deal in terms of fuel average and highway running at 120km/h, mainly from Karachi to Islamabad..
Cars i am limiting are falling in league of 1.3l series.
2017 1.3 Gli Corolla
or
2021 1.3 Yaris
Manual Transmission.
I am driving since 1997, lower foot and decent drive.
Awaiting suggestions from Senior & Experienced members.

Yaris will have better fuel average and will be newer but has inferior drive compared to gli

Can I ask why you are preferring a manual car when primarily you want to use it for highway travels?

Generally speaking, manual cars tend to run at higher rpms compared to automatics while at highway cruising speeds (100-120 km/hr)

Feels more controlled, as some time the route get extended to Muzaffarabad and sub area.
CVT are good but again budget is quite quite limited.

I did a recent highway trip in a 1.3L Corolla with a five-speed manual transmission. The revs stay pretty high, close to 3.5k RPM, at 100-120km/h in 5th gear.

Sadly, just had a look at the Yaris, and it, too, has a five-speed manual transmission. Not sure of the 5th gear ratio.

I did a trip to Lahore last year on a manual 1.3 GLi, the car stayed above 120 km/h most of the journey, with a couple of hours driving at a constant 150-160 km/h. My car returned 16.5 km/l at the end of the trip. It could have returned better fuel economy if I had it locked at 120 km/h. Mind you, this also includes the shitty highway from Moro to Sukkur.

I believe it is returning 14 at this speed because gli meter always shows 2 points more than reality. Is have tested it

A well maintained low mileage Corolla is better option.

An AT corolla with 4 speed AT seems a bit off when climbing hills. But manual is okay.

Corolla is more rigid and durable and the AC is too good.

Yaris is a inferior vehicle imo

It returned 14. something in city, with ac, this is based off of manual calculations. The car was sold last year so there is no bragging involved in this post, it is what it is. I'm not a mileage chaser, I mostly own cars with bigger engines than this, and don't care about mileage. But I don't understand the skepticism here, it was a maintained car. Are you guys implying that I'm not being truthful about such a petty thing as 2+kms on my gas mileage?
