10th gen to 11th gen corolla upgrade worth it

Aoa. We bought a 2009 corolla 10th gen 2 months back. Car was 1st owner one of the neatest cars we were able to locate in rwp/isb in our budget. After few initial things that needed attention which costed us around 25k we started using the car. In 2 weeks car developed an issue with alternator, a local electrician sorted it out but check light of engine started to show up after he solved the alternator issue. We sent the car from Rawalakot AK to Rwp to another old and reliable electrician he sorted out the alternator and check light issue. while the car was on its way to Rawalpindi it broke the belt moving compressor etc. New belt was installed but the compressor came out to be seized now before that a.c was fully functional and working, anyways the a.c guy said "ic model ki gari ka compressor issue karta ha, ic mein down model (02-08) ka compressor dalein", i asked my cousing to leave the a.c thing as it is and take the car home. front shocks seems to be aging as well, needing a change may be end of this year. Cut to short in two months i am quite tired of the work poping around every second day. though these two issues will cost me sth like 40k at the most but i am kinda annoyed, after even paying a good amount this car is giving me all kind of issues.
Now coming to the point i have decided to change it to a brand new gli. I searched PW and found out that the 11th gen corolla right from the show room is having quality issues. I was inclined towards new city as well but as the car is used in kashmir i really cant comment city's suspension will take the beating or not. I need a v sincere advice whether to get the issues sorted out and keep the car 10th gen 2009 63k km original odo, get a 11th gen new gli with a diff of arround 5 to 6lakh or get a new city provided anyone has kept it in road conditions like that in kashmir. I request everyone to please keep the corolla city fight away i asking in terms of how they gonna behave in Kashmir. Roads r v good right now but 1 bad winter and for years u have poor roads. looking for a detailed reply thanks

Maray bhai if you still believe your 10th gen is original 63k driven you better stop buying second hand cars and go for zero meter.
It is obvious you did not buy a good car, its meter was reversed and most probably driven more then 150k kms.

City is a great car and its suspension can take a lot of beating but you will have problem of it touching from underneath occasionally.

Coming towards 11 gen corolla better buy zero meter one or find some guy who can judge the car correct... As it better not be what happened to you before

the car that we bought was 63k km done! how iam so sure even the oil change was done by toyota workshop complete service lists was provided by the owner. Its in 100% original paint not even a drop of liquor sprayed anywhere thoroughly checked by a v experienced denter, we checked over 20 2009,2010 gli before finalizing this one! baat lambi karnay ka faida nai ha, i would call it my fate that it started giving such problems though i tried to find the best. Regarding city back in kashmir the guy from whom we buy oil,filter etc and stuff has a o meter city 2015 and a corolla gli 2011. according to him city after 10k km in a year resulted in some front suspension related work of 28k whereas the 2011 till now 5 yrs in kashmir and 53k km odo other then few bushing is going strong, this thing confusing me. on the same side atleast there r 4 threads regarding quality issue on PW about 11th gen corolla. So kinda confused.

Get your car fixed from a good shop and keep it.

Get electric work done only from authentic shops because most electricians dont know how to do electric work. Even if they fix the issue they will do it using some jugaar, with a bunch of cut wires and direct connections or bypassing sensors etc. which is bound to create even more problems.

Go fr brand new GLi, itz much betr thn City in every asppect

came to know of complete history now. Cars alternator was faulty the mechanic back at home from whom I used to get my work done was not available my czn took the car to some one else, as the belt is the same which drives the alternator and compressor that guy was a stupid person he disturbed the belt as well, the problem was partially solved but check light was on so I asked dad to not use the car and send it to Rawalpindi, after car was driven around 100km the misaligned or whatever was wrong with the belt resulted in breaking it and the compressor issue aroused as at the time the belt was broken ac was engaged and according to my czn it was cooling excellent.
Anyways I made a bold decision of selling may car and pay the extra 5lakh that is the booking price of new gli and ask dad to sell it and pay the rest and get the new gli in silver colour inshahAllah
