One of the reasons why I booked the Oriel, as I really don't want to hassle about which fuel to use and stuff.....Hopefully the issue gets solved for the turbo users soon...
Plus the black piano grill was a deal breaker too for me..but looks are definitely subjective.

Plus Turbo is a weekend car for fun filled thrilling drive, certainly not a daily runner.(specially with higher running cost).

Its my daily driven car, by next year 1.8 will discontinue and it will be only turbo civic

They cant discontinue 1.8 until they answer following issues with Turbo. And once they do so.. yes it will be my preferred option too.

1. It runs flawlessly on any fuel available on any pump.
2. I don't have to pay extra on fuel cost.

Like i said R18 1.8 engine going to phase out as it is already not in production in Western countries including all gulf state. Only some Asian countries is still selling 1.8 civic, soon it will be replace by 1000cc turbo for lower variant civic

Our Automobile industry is quite famous at continuing with phased out technologies for a reason and this will continue to happen with no exception.

Discontinuation of Oriel won't really affect people who have already bought this, just like introduction of new Civic X shoudn't disturb the life of Civic 9th Gen owner. For someone thinking to buy Oriel right now, his main concerns are the price, long waiting time and low quality performance or build quality of the civic delivered to him. Even if Atlas tomorrow announce formally that Oriel is being discontinued in 2 months, it shouldn't really affect the existing and potential owners (who buy before the discontinuation).

Personally speaking, as long as Oriel is available, running better on normal petrol than Turbo, it is little sense for me to go for Turbo.

if engine is gud nd meets all basic standards of modernization then there is no harm continuing it despite West disposal.... only u get a lil bored but that isn't a big deal lol comparison with West don't even make sense

From where does Pak suzuki and Indus managed to provide decades old engines to Pakistan market ? its a demand which runs supply its not other way around.

Those are not 1.8 engine, mehran has been stopped. Toyota 1.3 2nzfe is still in production by special request of Indus Motor. Even if u think R18 will continue then the spare parts n other parts of engine will become expensive, i mean it will be more exp than their new 1000cc turbo engine.

spares ain't issue as private maker are also making them + Production isn't an issue also

the engine itself will become expensive later for Honda, as most of the private vendors stopped making parts for R18a engine but for tht we will get to know in 2018.

Oriel will soon phase out as there will Honda City 1.0 turbo and 1.5 turbo civic only in future.

Dawar, we will get to know at the end of 2017....its still too early to tell about 1.8 oriel as it's their hot selling cars from last 6 months....

Its hot selling coz of Atlas gimmick & trick... Remember at launch 7000 units booked and out which over 5000 were Turbos... later forced tricked converted to Oriel... the price hike from 2829 to 2999- the fuel drama etc to make Oriel stock clear and sell well before it phases out... there is a huge cut for Atlas clearing old stock so they strategized and many of us got trapped buying Oriel.
