Last week sent my 1.8 Oriel to Honda South for 2nd Free Service - 5000KM or 3 Months (Whichever comes first).
Car was done only 2220 KM, but 3 months had passed. Service advisor called and said that Oil does not need to be changed, as we change oil at 5000KM, and your car is done only 2220KM. He said we will change oil at 5000KM (when you come again for 6 month service your car will be done around 5000KM).
I said but 3 months had passed. He said its upto you, if you tell us we will change oil but its not necessery as oil change will be due at 5000KM. I said OK. He used the service coupon and just did checkup etc without oil change. So was he correct? Do we have to check the KM (5000) or the months (3) for the oil change? Should we change oil every 3 months irrespective of KM, or should we wait till 5000KM are done, even if it takes 6 months to complete 5000KM?
(The owners manual says change Oil at every 5000KM or 3 Months and change Oil Filter at Every 10,000KM or 6 Months)
