Ok. Have been hearing a lot of people talking about the "knocking" issue... Well I don't know if they are really having knocking issue or if they are confusing it with the noise when traction control kicks in...

Whoever is facing this "grrrr grrrr" noise specially when you floor the car, please notice if the traction light blinks on the meter. If it does, it is the traction and not knocking... Plus you also feel a power cut or some sort of lag. Again that is because of Traction control and VSA. Knocking is something else guys...

I have 1.5 T 2017 and my head unit is workinhg absolute fine from previous 1 month....never a single glitch or hanging...by the way Honda people say that Turbo system is more advance than Oriel...as far as number of buttons is concerned ...my 5500 Rs. System in Cultus has around 10 buttons...what I conclude then....

My experience: its good old fashioned pinging, nothing else. I have no idea what this VSA, traction control issue is, and have never experienced it Alhumdolillah.

1st tank: PSO Altron X no pinging. 2nd tank: PSO Altron X, pinging a couple of times which got me worried. So 3rd tank: Total HOBC - its my wife's daily driver so today I drove it after a few days. Noticed that half a tank was spent (200+ KMs on Total HOBC) so I tried every which way to stress test it. Flooring from low RPM, especially during afternoon, warm temperatures, AC on - the exact same conditions under which I had experienced it previously. Tried all I could, multiple times, but couldn't get it to ping, Alhumdolillah.

Pls don't....that will straight away will void your warranty of Engine...my 8 Gen strated to decrease oil on 4th month of buy....I used oil from market 1 out of 3 oil change probabily it was total.....when I claimed warranty for engine....Honda straight away refused according to them only their Honda oil is accepted.as according to them that one one oil would be fake and have ruined engine so Honda can not be made responsible logically they were right ..and they have record on their central computer for every oil change from them...I made my all efforts to convince them I even told them I bought oil from Honda PitShop but they didn't agree they asked me to produce receipt..total expenditure was 3 lac to fix the engine by Honda ..though I sorted out by using the very high up in Honda Factory even then it was personal favour nothing to do with Warranty....they just crossed my warranty...after that I have promissed by myself after itching my nose to floor that i will use Honda oil what so ever bad or good...don't want to start that 3 month long nightmare once again...

I have been using shell 5w30 in all my cars right now i have 9th gen civic and honda aspire no problem but was just asking if people.use any other im.confused im gonna get my car tomorrow inshAllah will post pics soon cant wait!

Hello there I also booked turbo and have got the date of 31st may from which city u have booked it I have booked it from karachi

I have finally taken the plunge by booking a 1.5T Civic. After many interviews with the Honda sales staff, I have come to know the following:

1 - There is NO change in 2017 Civic suspension settings as mentioned in the posts above.
2 - They have tried some software changes to address the tick tick noises from VSA but without any real success. The noises are, as per them, normal noises that are associates with the VSA functionality. Its a noise we have to hear similar to the ABS functionality. They will only do any software alteration if the customer complains.
3 - They have not done any changes to the ECU software to address knocking noises also called pinging. That is purely a fuel related issue. Now that almost all reputable petrol pumps are selling the correct grade of fuel pinging complaints are almost ceased.
3 - The only area where the 2016 and 2017 cars differ is in the firmware of the infotainment unit. As per the sales staff. the unit in the turbo has many glitches which have been resolved. This will be the only difference between the 2016 and 2017 cars. Apparently the 1.8 has no infotainment issues.

In my case the car was booked in the end of Jan 2017 and will be delivered by end of May. I cant wait " class="emoji" alt="">

Hello everyone. i own a 1.8 oriel and i had no ticking noises in my car since i bought it (about 2 weeks). It has had nothing other than ALTRON (i don't know which kind) but it is 92RON. Today i decided to test the steering in an open space and turned rapidly left and right (making the car dance i don't know how to explain it ) then it started making ticking noises. i think this is what everyone is talking about and i think it was just VSA/Traction Control kicking in because i turned steering very rapidly. Experts please tell me if my car needs a replacement or not or if something is wrong. Thanks

You will have a really good experience with your car no doubt I went oriel because i drive mostly in an area with a speed limit of 25km/h and i don't do any drag racing so i went oriel. The thing i wanted to ask you i why so long delivery? My friend booked in start-mid of JAN and his car is arriving on 6th Feb. Maybe the rumors were true that my friends were telling me that honda has stopped production of turbo for a while. i don't know

New suspension with bushings at the rear for turbo just like that of USDM.

Insha Allah the experience with this new car will be good. My selection towards the 1.5T was driven by lower road tax/registration costs with higher power output and all the torque being available at just 1700rpm. I am not a speed merchant but I appreciate good engineering. I don't know why the delivery is so long. It is unreasonable. The Oriel is even longer - May end!!

I will check on the oil filled suspension bushing from the Honda sales staff next I am at the dealer.

So i called Atlas, the guy from the dispatch department told me that the production of Oriel variant is starting from 7th jan in which your car is scheduled. can anybody here tell me an approx. waiting time from production and the car being delivered to the concerned dealership?

tentative date is 31st march from starting but guy at atlas has confirmed the delivery in feb ,said that website shows maximum time.
