Salam to all,
There has been a lot of Talk here about the issues with the infotainment system of the 1.5T car. Also posters have hammered Atlas for providing a sub standard vehicle here in Pakistan and so on. Hence I did a bit of checking about problems other people were having with the 1.5T car world over.
I have to point out that in the rest of the world the infotainment system is VERY different from PkDM version. They don't have the rear screen. The A/c controls are accessed via the infotainment screen while we get physical push buttons. They have 450 Watt system, I don't know the wattage of our version. They get the phone connections under the dash, we get a bunch of cables in the glove box and so on.
While the two systems are quite different, The highest reported problem with the 2016/2017 Civic 1.5T is with the infotainment system. Please note that as you read through this owners of the 2.0L car, 1.5T car, 1.6L diesel versions have all written. I am not making this up, here is a link to the page: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Civic/2016/accessories-interior/bluetooth_connectivity_not_working.shtml
If one reads this, the same type of problems are listed: freezing, frequent bluetooth disconnection, not initializing and so on.
My basic intent here is to bring home the point that we should not say, "Oh well this is Pakistan so it is a fore gone conclusion that we are being forced into accepting sub-standard product with respect to the rest of the world". The rest of the world is in the same boat as we are
I am informed that Atlas has been working with the infotainment system folks and have worked out a correction patch. It will be nice for any 1.5T owner who has had his infotainment system updated to let us know if it has worked or not.
