I have a turbo and it hasn't given me any issues. It depends on what kind of sounds are coming from the car. Dealerships aren't usually aware of the issue unless it's widespread nor are they technically up to date to even know how to solve the issue.
By all means just google how a turbo works and then visit the nearest dealership to ask them how a turbo works and 99% they'll give you a crap answer.
I initially did have knocking issues with my car when suddenly flooring it and no it's not LSPI as LSPI only happens in manual transmission and cannot take place in a CVT. More on that later. Anyways I changed fuel stations, went to Total HOBC religiously and it's gone, I mean 100% done. So yeah since this is the first time a factory fitted turbo charged car is being offered in Pakistan, please learn a few things about the car.
It does need pure fuel, it is more sensitive to fluctuations of our beloved fuel stations as they obviously aren't giving us the pure RON as promised thus the issue lies there and there alone. Yes some cars do have mechanical issues as it's still a machine and prone to issues but please do your own due diligence and change the fuel first and then see. A word of advice for Turbo users who are facing an engine noise issue, changing fuel to total isn't a swish of a magic wand that the noise will instantly disappear, it does take 2-3 full tank consumption for the car to return to normal operations with no engine noise whatsoever and this I can tell for sure because of own personal experience which was based on other people who were telling me to do it and I didn't listen.
If change of fuel doesn't help then yes it's a fault and should be taken up with Honda asap. Do take a video evidence with you as we all know cars at times tend to be just fine the day they're supposed to be taken for a test drive to check what the issue one faces.
Last but not the least, Honda atlas needs to work on a tune up of the ecu so the knock sensor isn't set at such a higher octane level. Maybe it needs to be reduced for our Pakistani standards. Do remember that it was just Pakistan and Somalia using the crap fuel which hasn't even completely changed in the market and guaranteed older graded fuel is being mixed with the newer grade.
