I have a query for civic x 1.8 owners
Which engine oil are u using?

Use Honda genuine oil 5W-30. It is recommended even in the manual and it is rated for temperatures around 45 degrees, hence suitable for Pakistan. However there are 2 variants available of the oil at Honda dealerships: One with a red cap which is SM grade and i cheaper and is manufactured by Total. The other version is with a green cap which is SN grade and costs a bit more, and is manufactured by Chevron Pakistan. Both are Fully synthetic, but go for green cap. Its the best oil for your 1.8, as its of good grade, proper recommenced viscosity, and most importantly the engine warranty will stay intact.

I have more than 22000km on odo on my 1.5T and the car knocks like hell.
To all those who are considering to buy one I suggest you guys to wait and let the problem disappear first.
I have been using Total Hobc with out any mixing but it does not help either.

I have just found one way to make it knock less and that is to drive it on S instead of D. The high RPM in S mode help sometimes (only sometimes).

Can anybody please urgently advise that my car has done only like 300km but one month has been passed away...should i go for my first visit or wait for 1000km??....urgent reply plz

Wait for 1000 km or 6 months which came first.

Get it checked ..It isn't a really big deal....Or get it upto 500~600 km and then get it checked....But dont wait too long ...otherwise the point of the checkup becomes moot....

Immediately go for 1000km service as it is one month or 1000km whichever comes first

That's not good. Have you got software updated and talked to Honda people since the frequency is very high as per your statement.

Have you tried different pumps?

exactly it's quite frequent as mine having driven 15000km doesn't give it that much.
have you got air filter changed or not?
if not then got that changed. that may also be the reason of increased frequency as mine was doing so a bit increased recently & when i got air filter checked it was totally chocked so got that changed n now it's normal as was previously going on.

What exactly they do in first 1000 km checks??....

Engine oil checks, torques of various nuts and bolts holding the chassis..External lights...A general physical check..

Ok...do they change the oil??....tappet settings?....if they dont do these two things on 1000 km checks then i think no need to wait for 1000 kms....

@Zish79 Imo they want to check if any nut or bolts loosen after 1000 km drive or if any moving part working in order or not so there is no reason to check it before time it won't fulfil the purpose of this check up. i.e if doctor advice the patient to revisit him after 7 days so he find out if you needs to continue same medicine or need some addition or deletion and you go there after two days or without using complete course than what will he diagnose?

Oil change is at 5000 km and you have to pay for that....Only checkups are free of cost...Not sure about tappet settings.
Just get it done whenever you have the time...Its nothing to special to fuss about...Another word of advice...Do try to go early since a lot of cars are there for checkups or other issues hence the line might take long...at least that's what happened to me at Honda Classic Islamabad...

I booked turbo on 9-02-17. I was promised by honda avenue that make full payment u will get the car in 1.5 month. Now its been more than 2 months no sign of car. The website shows the delivery in july
