Civic Engine are precision engineered and designed to produce excellent engine output power from very compact blocks, whereas Toyota has larger and less efficient engine (in terms of weight cc and power output). So once a honda engine starts giving issues there is no way around but to get engine replacement as major repair never can bring engine back to good as new condition (limitation of local market and cost viability) whereas toyota is easily fixed. So if you plan to keep your car for 5 years no issues. but 15 years old model and things are way different

Since corolla uses a bigger engine thats tuned for less power it will mean engine is underworked this very reliable.

Gentlemen,

I have got a couple of questions...

1- will Honda pay something back for keeping our (1.5mn Rs. In my case) for 6 months?

2- I have booked my civic on 2nd March and the Tentative delivery date was 31st August. Now when I check status online there's a line added next to tentative, which is "Latest by".

Is this what everyone sees now? Looks like something new.

It is normal. They will give you money in case you have paid full and don't get delivery within two months of full payment

About the resale, GLi and Altis 1.6 enjoy the best resale and same can't
be said for Grande. I just bought this 2016 November invoice and 2017
registered 3800km driven Grande for 24.75 and has costed 25 after
transfer for filer while brand new was costing 26 after registration. So
there goes the resale theory.

LOL what, Which used car in market sells for above invoice price and gives back $$ spent on registration ? you bought it above invoice price which is not enough of an example for resale invoice price for 2016 model is 23 at max
Do no WHT for filer is refundable

The list of cars which sell above invoice value isn't exactly small. Cars that sell above invoice value are some examples like WagonR, GLi, Altis 1.6, City, Civic X Oriel. Own/On/Premium adds up to all cars even slightly older respectively to derive their market value.

About the Grande at 23 Lakhs. Sorry but please check prices.

Do the maths please, whereas in this case the car is already registered and WHT paid on transfer is more than 3 times less on 2nd transfer. About the under invoice theory of yours. Find me a less than 5000 kns driven Civic for invoice plus registration cost only and I will buy 2 from you if thats the case. I planned to sell my Civic for some reason and got a few offers (but Allah ka karam had to deactivate the ad after 3 days as the reason went away luckily before I sold it) my total cost after registration was 2790 after adding Yokohama tyres for my Civic X and the lowest offer I got was 2875. Had made up my mind to give at anything close to 29.

Even as of today please find a Civic even 2016 Oriel that is available under invoice value. I will be happy to buy. Lets talk about Corolla GLi or Altis 1.6 if you think I am favouring Civic, please arrange me an under invoice registered GLi or Altis 1.6 I will even give you commission.

And if you don't believe cars selling at above invoice you probably don't live in Pakistan and haven't heard the word OWN/ON/PREMIUM which ends up affecting market vale of cars.

PS: which Grande is invoiced at 23 lakhs. Check Indus website that's not even Ex-factory at 23 Lakhs

Oh and about the WHT being refundable. That's what the book says but though this is wrong BUT in our market value people add it to the invoice value. And its about the practice going around which affects the consumer not what the books say.

Grande has 139hp civic has 141hp so not a difference to be considered
And why are people comparing engines?
Many people around me have civics even a 14 year old civic and engines are running fine. From what i have heard noise starts to come from different parts like dashboard and doors. Suspension is a little bit sensitiveand if u drive it carelessly, gari kharak jaye gi.

My 2 cents about the concept of Toyota taking more beating of rough use than Honda in Pakistan.

In other parts of the world people don't do off-roading in these cars or take them into villages and even fields where roads are nothing but a collection of car breaking bumps. So they will obviously stay more reliable in any case.

But in Pakistan just exit the Urban areas and all you will see is mostly Toyotas. Now for our market the suspension in Corolla is relatively old school with a torsion beam even in 11th Gen Corolla at the rear while Hondas have been getting independent suspension even a few generations back making them more prone to get defected. Obviously an independent suspension can't be as rigid as the beam with springs. So because of this fact and also because Corolla in Pakistan is very much raised to take more harsh surfaces and bumps makes it easier for rough use because there isn't much present in the first place to go wrong.

I and my family just got fed up of giving a Honda for my domestic use in the hands of driver. One day he breaks a hydraulic mount and then another day he breaks an alternator adjuster, then some other day he would inform the PS pipe has leaked, and another fine day he would scrap the car belly on a bump. The car I am mentioning is an 8th Gen Reborn. On the other hand none of this stuff is there in the first place to wrong in a GLi and because of these facts this is what I am gonna do now. Sell the Civic and give him a GLi. The favourite car to sit in the passenger seat and let the driver give it a beating without being concerned about maintainence costs and stuff going wrong.

I believe someone is confusing resale with momentarily own/black due to high booking time and shortage of cars in market. Resale is used for vehicles which are 2-3 years old. And in such cases they dont sell above invoice price.

Bro please check my original post again and see the 2016 model I bought for which you quoted to me that its invoice was 23.

Nonetheless market values for different year models are respective to their brand new prices.
