If you want driving pleasure, go for Civic. If you want a car that can take rough beating get a Corolla. Both can't be compared in my opinion as both both focus different things. But what Civic offers is more preference of mine. I don't wanna go into a comparison but my preference and choice would be Civic. However between 9th Gen Civic and Grande I would not prefer the Civic but 10th Civic is a different case totally.
About the new Corolla, I have never considered facelifts ever to be a new car. Its the same old material with not even a new shape of packing but just a different design on the packing. Mid model facelifts are push to a model which has crossed half its life. Its a lifeline for any car. Think of it as a medicine. Always try to get a car within 2 years of its launch so you can enjoy the model for a good time. Facelift will be shortlived and within 3 years it will get old. In my opinion, someone having an original 2014 doesn't regret so much when lights change on the car but an altogether new car makes your car feel suddenly too old all of a sudden.
By the way this is a Civic thread so don't expect members here with Civic experience to suggest you a Corolla. And same is applicable to Corolla thread, don't expect any member suggesting Civic there either.
