I fail to understand why people are so damn bothered in fact have put themselves in agony for the 0.5 to 1 second boost? Going from pillar to post, Unichip and Hondata etc. Why don't you guys understand the core issue is in the fuel upon which the car has to run actually.
As for the knocking problem, if I were in that situation I would have tried my best to procure good fuel and waited till the recall is announced. I seriously don't consider Unichip as a permanent option. Its more like stop-gap.
Or maybe I'm just another boring old person trolling the forums?

Oh and one more thing please try to understand that Unichip and such tuners are actually now taking advantage of Turbo owners. Bhaio please! Your Turbos are already fantastic, don't finger the original tuning, have a little patience. Its just a matter of time.

this is why i removed the unichip and got the reflash, coz unichip only increase the power/torque but it wont solve the knocking. Then i told the unichip to start working on the reflash which will erase the factory ecu map and put on new map to work on our hioctane fuel and tht went successfull. My car was the 2nd civic turbo to get reflash in whole Khi and till now m happy running on any highoctane but wont recommend to use super maybe Total fuel 50/50 mixed will work.

actually unichip never took advantage of me and my friends turbo civic, he refund our money back as he knew we wont enjoy our cars with knocking problem. Unichip guy told me if r u not happy/satisfied with unichip power then u can remove it n get the whole refund. I told him we are having knocking issue so he recommend to get reflash as unichip wont solve the problem, unichip and reflash are two different product so dont get confuse as its not same thing.

What's your take on CVT vs DCT, purely relating to performance? I assume A3 has DCT? In my opinion nothing can do a better job of keeping the car in its power band (hence best overall performance) than CVT?

BTW, I'm not a fan of CVT, due to lack of shifts and the awful CVT drone noise - also the fake illusion of revs going up and down when you totally floor the Civic just puts me off!

If you keep using good fuel, then it would be fine .

It knocks with bad fuel and more pressed pedal at low rpm around 2k.

My Turbo hasn't knocked for last 1500km as I now try to use Total Hi super mainly and occasionally Total Hioctane when it is available.

A3 got dsg which is similar to dct gearbox, i like my cvt gears which is not like prius or any other cvt gearbox but yea on S mode those shifting r so fake.

Looking for stock size tires for civic X in islamabad or rawalpindi. My need is, original fresh tires tht give good grip on road in all conditions and are noiseless.

Wanted to get mc5 but the tire prices in blue area are so volatile, one shop offering 56k for for and net 42k in exchange. Other shop offering net 28k for same mc5. The tires were 2016 mid date which alerts me tht that may be smuggled ones. Checked pireli p7 in stock size Italian made from United types and they seemed good, 2017 manufactured, deal being offered was 44k net, 64k for tires and 20k for exchange. The guy was saying they are legally imported and will give a warranty card which was just a printed card from pireli.

Please advise with tires i should buy and reliable place in islamabad or rawalpindi. Thanks

Thank you. Yes brother got Vezel too Alhamdullilah. And will do a detailed comparison very soon.

And up till now I have no issues with AC of civic. It is as chilling as Vezel and 9th gen civic. Cools a 45C cabin in minutes when climate in auto mode. So I am satisfied.

It's a tough call.
But I would take DCT any day over cvt.
dual clutch shifting is really smooth and fast plus the thrill in sports of DCT is amazing, which cvt can never give.
I am using Vezel so I really enjoy revving it.

Finally someone talked sense.
They are indeed luring people just for the sake of removing knock and then temper with Ecu. Which is highly dangerous. Turbo is already powerful enough and needs good fuel.

Not similar but actually its a DCT. Direct Shift Gearbox(DSG) is Volks Wagen group's version of DCT.

Similar as in it work same as DCT but different name such porsche got PDK and VW/Audi got DSG.

Highly dangerous? Knocking is more dangerous than getting it fix by reflash, there are many turbo civics wit blown engines at the Honda dealership and they r stock ecu so its better to fix knocking issue by reflash before u destroy ur engine. Oh btw its not fuel fault only, i have other turbo cars as well n they r working perfectly fine on any hioctane. Its Honda fault not to give proper map according to our fuel, which is why i got reflash to run any hioctane fuel. Honda Atlas is working on their factory ecu map and other parts to run on local fuel witout knocking problem.

My point is that I would rather keep my car stock and run it on hi-octane ... rather then installing these custom maps. Stock is stock period.

U r not getting my point dear, i meant all those stock turbo civics engines r blowing up due to knocking, in long run with knocking can cause spark plugs melt or break by pre-detonation. Do google n study wat happen to the engine struggling from knocking. Sometime even hioctane wont solved this issue and remember this car was meant to run on super not on hioctane like in US/Thailand they r running on 92RON.

Frankly I have heard stories about blown engines on this forum but no owner has come forward as yet.

I am skeptical about this now as some things seems to be blown out of proportion on this forum.

It is just my feeling

How is your experience with civic X 1.8 going , as i am planning to buy da beast but heard/read alot of complains regarding civic X 1.5T , so jow kind of worried.
