At the time of dynoing, the ambient temp was 34-35c but the blower was blowing cooler fresh air from outside which is helping to cool down the car and also the IAT but not much. The unichip guy had water sprayer and he sprayed the water on the intercooler to bring down the IAT which was showing 55-60c but it came down to 50-52c for short time. I had filled shell v-power in my civic turbo at tht time to see the difference from Total HOBC, there was significant difference from fuel as same day my friends turbo civic made 4whp more than my civic as he was running only on Total HOBC.

It is not an authenticated news as otherwise all cars should have been recalled.......they are working on it and they are all the same i think....

Hmmm.......till now i am on Total HOBC and i think should remain on it........in case of emergency should shift to mixing of Total regular.........

I have several data logs from hondata flash pro and everytime I heard the tik tik tik sound the ecu registered knocking events on the sensor reading. I heard tik tik 6 times and the knock count on the read out said 6. And this is my observation from at least 8-10 different data log runs. And my Mercedes E250 makes the exact same tik tik sound under load when it is running on low octane fuel.

So I am not sure whether to believe the data log which clearly mentions that there were knocking events or to believe your very well written hypothesis. Not at all discounting your theory, it is very possible. But right now I will believe what the data is telling me.

Salik bhai ye CVT ko dyno karna vaisai hee azaab hay. Anyway, I did 3 runs and got three different numbers each time. First two runs I got 177 and 179 WHP. For the last run I turned off the engine and let it cool for 15 minutes and ended up with 186 WHP

yea bro, every runs was showing different numbers and the best number i got when my car was properly cool down for 10mins and the IAT was below 50c. I noticed at the dyno place the car will suffer more due to small room inside the workshop, on the road it will be different. 2ndly when u dyno the car u got all the lights on dash appearing like christmas tree coz of both front tires are on the dyno roll, so all the sensors stopped working and ur trc control wont interfere as well so this why u get more horsepower numbers on dyno otherwise it wont be same on the road. As for cvt its better to dyno on 90% throttle and on S paddle mode on 5th gear is the best for 7spd gearbox.

it's fact that everyone here comes with a new, unique & irrational sort of problem which i even having it for more than 10months with ODO upto 22k kms never had observed ever. don't know from where these people are discovering such sort of issues.

Of course only troubled ones will come here, this like hospital where patients come.

Ones without any issues are busy enjoying other things in life..

Have to agree with your analysis bro - ever since I got my Turbo I've been unsure whether it actually is pinging sound, or just tik tik. One thing is for sure, every time it happens the acceleration suffers. A couple of days ago I heard the dreaded sound after a long time (cuz I mistakenly filled 30% HOBC with 70% Total Regular I think) and sure enough it was 3 times.

To some extent I feel that it is true. Most of cars with high ratio of knocks is from 2016.

Mine is 2017 and it knocks occasionally when I pour full regular fuel else with mix it hardly knocks.

Just travelled 1000km and it knocked once only .

.................YES...They are knocking events but not that loud pinging noise which our old cars does....and as a preventive safety action the tik tik we hear is a safety function sound restricting your throttle butterfly by slapping noise felt in accelerator paddle not the actual pinging sound of cylinder......The knock event is there but to a very low extent as compare to our other ordinary cars....I explained it earlier.....here is my post and your dyno test log shows exactly the right thing.....TIK TIK is not a knocking sound rather its an indicative sound of knocking event within the combustion chamber but not to an audible extent just like our old NA cars...

for your better understanding knock sensors senses knock pinging in milli volts. lets say 800mv. The destructive knock value is lets say 2400mv...... when it senses 800mv it immediately retards the IG timing and at the same time waste gate valve operates to relieve the Turbo charger. Thats why loss of power occurs....Boy this is engineering. " At the same time the driver phsycologically pull up the accelerator paddle. so its safe....but prolonging it by continuously putting regular petro…

Don't worry.
As you are well familiar with the situation just put it in S if need a quick acceleration or just click your flappy paddle shifter and you will enjoy its jumpy pick up for overtaking....simple formulae......with regular petrol available drive normally....whenever needed a quickie....get on your paddle shifter and you will have no problem.....

2016 was the span between july to dec when HOBC availability was scarce and people were forced to put regular.....and had to search hard to get HOBC.....

You have a warranty issue......initially break light malfunctioning and now break whistle......normally a car discs whistle while cornering or creeping at low speed when they are 80 percent worn out....It is a sound of metallic pin which touches the rotor disc to indicate for the immediate replacement.....
It depends on the driving habbit that Auto car discs lasts max till 40k kms and can sometimes need replacement within 15 to 20k kms if driver is aggressive....

For power enhancement one needs to advance ignition timing further......which further becomes more sensitive on fuel RON and a hence knocking worsens......
Hondata is gud to go if you are living in 1st world.....hahahahahahaha.......Here already having even compromised HOBC worsens the situation and hence proved......Those cars who are being re-flashed for more power. There engine life span is definately reduced..........

and i am afraid that "Kahin UNICHIP knock detection disable tou nahi kar raha, jis kay after effects near future mein pata chalein".

if this is happening then this safety function of restriction your throttle tik tik will not happen and those with UNICHIP will ruin there engines..........

the only car which gave me such knocking was my range rover super charged after that civic turbo is the award winner in knocking
i have been following this thread and the discussion has gone to a pro level of boost and wat not
in simple words wat to do with the issues
will someone listen to customers at honda ??

There isn't any way to disable the knock sensors on this ecu. Hondata and unichip aren't stand alone systems rather they work alongside the car's ecu.

The tuners are fiddling with the AFR and ignition timings until they feel they have come up with a safe "map" backed up by numerous WOT runs. Once the sensors start showing 0 knocking events they are happy to finalize that map.

I haven't tinkered with any parameters myself. I am just running a stock +6psi hondata injen SRI map and my car doesn't knock. Salik bhai on the other hand got his car re flashed on unichip and his knocking seems to have disappeared as well. Previously he was facing knocking problems.

And as for the Mercedes. It actually throws a CEL and even shuts down a cylinder completely if it knocks (tik tik sound) 2-3 times in a short period. You have to actually remove the error code from the system. I've been to Shahnawaz at least 4 times with this issue and met numerous E class owners facing the same dilemma. Shahnawaz just removes the code, gives you two bottles of octane booster and suggests that you fill up total hi octane and the problem won't resurface.

Sunil bhai I agree with you. Not everyone is interested in technicalities. People hear the knocking and they want to get rid of it. Most of them can't be bothered to go into details about the causes and what not.

Honda has been horrible at dealing with this whole fiasco. Customers have been forced to look elsewhere for solutions while facing threats of warranty cancellation from Honda. Initially as I'm sure you are aware they gave strange excuses for this knocking; from ABS malfunction to traction control software glitch. But the daily driver knows it is a mechanical sound and not an electrical one and naturally Honda's "updates" failed to adress the real cause.

I believe if they hadn't wasted so much time ignoring the situation and making excuses they could have come up with a solution by now.
